Hi ive only signed up and hoping to use this forum in my rehabilitation. Im a 20 year old male and sadly im mad into football and of course horse racing. This has been extremely detrimental for me as I grew up around both sports and when I turned 18 and recieved my credit card and started getting a wage I gambled it all every week of my life and right know of course I have nothing to show for it except a broken heart and a lost soul.
A life gambling free has to start with that one day you say enough so I hope today is that day. As with most gamblers after getting my money up a few hundred today with my wages (unemployed for 2 years) I lost it all. I use to play football at quite a high level and still do but I feel the passion is gone for playing know whether I gambled or didnt. I hope im one of the many success stories I read on this site somewhere down the future , but as of know I feel it looks bleak ,I feel like nobody. Its as tho ive assigned myself a life of misery with or without gambling who knows, but im curious to find out.
Hi hoping, first of all you're somebody. You've come here to get help and that's great. You're 20? So lots of living to do. I'm wife of cg whose gambled for many years. If you really want to stop tell someone close to you. Get blockers on your gadgets, self exclude. Call gamcare and get some real advice and counselling. It would be fantastic if you did stop at 20. Remember this is a lifelong addiction and can ruin your life. Be honest and things will start to improve. Maybe someone could handle your finances, it helps. Someone will be along with more advice. Good luck, be proud you've realised it's a problem!

Hoping for a future, i hope you will stick on this site and get encouragement and help. Unfortunately I was not able to stick around when I got my first big loss I was 18 at the time. I am 26 now and I have gambled away an inheritance money to my family. Just 2 days ago i spent the last 6k of a 30k savings I had which I was going to use to marry my girlfriend, start a new life with her and move out of the family home. Now i owe the bank £3k and I am at rock bottom. As I type to you now i am in my bed and I have not left here since saturday when I lost my last bit of money.
Please seek help, tell your friends and family members come clean because this thing will take over your life. I wish I could turn back the hands of time to the first day I came on here but I can't. Get help. It is not too late, do not come as far as I have come please.
Hi mate, I'm 21 so I can relate in some ways to how it feels to be a gambling addict at this age. If you ever need a chat mate just let me know, even if it's just a chat to talk to someone who understands.
