Just over a year ago I was a normal person living each day as it comes, someone hurt me very badly and I started online gambling, this person was a very controlling man and did things you shouldn't do. Before I knew it gambling had took over me, my worst day I spent 10,000. I realised gambling gets you not the other way round. At this point I decided to stop, closed my accounts and moved my money over to another account to be looked after for me. I was free from gambling for a month until I checked my bank and noticed 850 quid had gone to starspins ( closed account) and from a card that had been reported as lost. I reported this to Barclays who didn't take it seriously and took 2 months to investigate. Of course in this time due to the stress I relapsed. Barclays won't do anything about it even though they were well aware of what had happened to me. I now find myself with 26,000 worth of debt. I work full time, I'm trying to set up my own business as I want to repay my debt and have my mind preoccupied with something else. I am trying very hard to get back on track but the shame I feel over what I've done is hard to live with. Gambling is a horrible horrible thing and I think someone needs to look into how easy it is to set up an account with no real security checks, i Also want to help others with their addictions. Let's all stick together and put these evil comlanies out of business.

You are still a normal person. You got suck into addiction of gambling.
Forget the money, it's gone. Dwelling on the losses will not help you release the addiction.
You have the power to stop an will get over this.

Hi, and welcome, the debts will come down and you can clear them in time but you have to stop beating yourself up over them else you may be tempted to gamble again. You have to keep yourself busy so that you are not tempted, put blocks in place to stop you etc. Start to like yourself so,that you can heal and start to feel better x X
Good advice, did this last night all blocks on sites I used, got a debt plan in place, busy promoting my business. I'm not gonna let that piece of s**t that tried to destroy me ruin my life. He'll get his own karma in time, once a loser always a loser. Me on the other hand the futures bright. We all need to support each other.
