Hello, Well i'm 4 weeks in to no Gambling and i've never felt better, I used to buy Scratchcards which are the devil, I could spend in the excess of £30 a day and win hardly anything back, one morning i woke up and thought to myself why should i just give these people my hard earned money, I came up with a idea instead of buying the Cards i would go and deposit the money i would spend into a saving account, and 1 month in i now have £840 in my saving account, you've just got to try and look at it in the long run, when you see how much your saving on not Gambling you'll feel better and think why did i even gamble in the first place, Remember its not just yourself who's going to feel bad, it could put pressure on your partner and family, Hopefully people will give my method a try it worked for me. good luck people 🙂

Thankyou,i've been out to purchase some items for myself today, a brand new iPhone with the money i've saved, onwards and upwards, gamblings a mugs game the only real winners are the people who sell the scratch cards, the odds are stacked against you every time, someone i know just bought 6 of the cards in a row and lost every single time, £12 wasted in 5 minutes, glad i'm not on that path anymore chasing money. hopefully this story will inspire others to do what i'm doing

Fantastic acheivement leeh098! You might want to check out our page on blocking software though, in case you are tempted to switch to online gambling on that new iPhone. http://www.gamcare.org.uk/get-advice/what-can-you-do/blocking-software

Congratuations on everything you've acheived. Onwards and upwards indeed.

Just downloaded Gamban, and put it on every device i own, the trick is to keep yourself occupied so your not tempted to gamble, go the gym or for a walk, it helps limiting the amount of money you take out with you too.

I used this one on my Laptop https://gamban.com/, and i got my dad to put parental control passcode on my iphone to ban 18+ websites, which means gambling websites are blocked, even the 'Free Play' ones don't work, The laptop one says Network not private, when you try and go on Gambling websites, once you install it you cannot remove it from devices etc, it's useful, Gamblings a awful habit ruins lives, debt problems etc, i'm only 25 i've got a hell of a long time to turn my life around.

Good work there! Well done

I'm 44 days free today and I take a similar approach to yourself where at the end of a month I look what money I've got left (or rather saved on gambling) and I buy myself something with it. I think you appreciate the value of money a bit more doing that!!

Thank you, and you too it feels great doesn't it, it's nice to go out and get things for yourself instead of giving these money grabbers your hard earned money, You've just got to think about the days were you gambled and lost and ended up with £0,

Lifes too short to make yourself depressed, worried about money, you've got one life lets make it one to remember, good luck in future days, you should be ever so proud, it's a massive achievement.
