Well tomorrow I will have been gamble free for two whole weeks! I have just been payed today, so that is the real test as I usually gamble away my entire wage within two days! I have changed all my direct debits to the day I get payed, so everything has come out that I need to pay for bills and debts etc. I am now looking forward to being careful with my money, and maybe even having a tiny something left after to treat the kids with instead of using my husbands money for those things. I'm feeling positive, but the tiny urge is still there. This forum is proving a great help. Good luck everyone

Stay strong. I know being a father, I want to do right by my children and want to lead by example. What would you say if they gambled their money away? What if they gambled it away because their Mam did it and it's ok to do it?? You have to show your kids that you are responsive and that you can have no secrets from them.
Yes agreed. The urge will always be there, and the what ifs, but I am feeling in control at the moment. The thought of playing and losing really disgusts me. This is the first time I've felt control and the want to really stop
