Well hello everyone!!
Tuesday night already........and I've been trying to update the "check in" page for what seems like the whole week. A great Scottish phrase (and to echo the sentiments of my Weigy brother Del).......this website is pure ripping my knitting!! Gamcare - I'll give you that it looks better, a couple of better features like the profile page.......but it has got to be one of the most un-user friendly sites I've seen in a long time. Navigation is poor, editing is poor, it's not intuitive........either that or I'm just getting old. I'm hoping that we'll be asked for feedback for upgrades soon. Don't let this detract though from how much I appreciate you guys hosting these pages!
Its superb to see some names from the past few weeks and months checking in and saying hi. Dot - hope you had a brilliant holiday and are refreshed to fight the good fight! AdamPrice - one of our founder members - brilliant to see you and even better that you have got a great recovery period behind you.......hoping you'll at least stay with us until the New Year?
I Wished - Suzanne - for a long long time I've scanned down the front page of the recovery diaries and witnessed your name against so many different people's diaries and devoting so much time to supporting others.......and I've Wished(!) that you would come and join us. It's brilliant to have you marching alongside - no need for second posts stating commitments etc., you're in and one of us.......and I'll formally welcome you on Sunday 🙂
Thanks for all the comments about the update on Sunday past. It's good to see it resonating with so many of you - kinda makes you feel less alone in your thoughts!
Scambling - indeed soldier, 5 weeks on Monday I think for me and the day before for you - seems incredible huh? Looking forward to it and already planning a wee family celebration!
Celebrations gets me to raising the gathering again........is there anyone realistically who would like to get together at some point in the New Year and have some food and drinks, say farewell to the past and toast the future? I raised this a few months ago to gauge interest but as we all learn, a lot has changed in this time. I'll raise it again in Sunday, but get your thinking caps on as to whether you'd like a wee night out in January/February. I'm certainly up for it!!
need to get to sleep - horrible week at work so far........but hey ho, it could be worse........it could be horrible and I could still be gambling!!
Night night comrades.............have a great week! Mr B checking in...........and logging out!!

Hi Mrbrightside
We're sorry the new forum is causing you some frustration. We have flagged up the editing issue you mentioned to our developers. You also mentioned some issues with navigation - we do welcome all feedback so if you could be more specific please do let us know your thoughts about how things could improve. You could post in the feedback section, or email us at feedback.admin@gamcare.org.uk
Many thanks

Checking in early this week as I am out socialising both tomorrow evening and all day Saturday... God help my hangover on Sunday.
Welcome to the newcomers and well done to returning soldiers... The war against gambling continues!
Have a great weekend everyone.
Mike
I used to dream of completing the year gamble free sadly it wasn't to be and I feel I have slipped up too many times to be part of this positive place. So good luck to everyone on here, its amazing to see how well everyone is doing and the huge progress that people have made. I hope the members grow and the days increase. I would now like to be removed from the challenge, thanks for everyones support along the way.
Checking in. Many apologies for missing last week, I think a little bit of complacency set in and I drifted away a bit but I realise that without this place I would really struggle. Strength and hope to all.

Hey mr B I will def be sticking around until the new year, I can't believe it's been nearly a whole year already!
The main reason for not being more active on the forum was that the last slip up I had hit me really hard.
I nearly lost my job due to 'borrowing' money from work to gamble with. I admitted to my boss that I had a gambling problem and the various steps I was taking in my recovery.
Suprisingly she was very understanding and told me she was once married to a CG so knows quite a bit about it.
I was extremely fortunate to keep my job and my manager has been a great help.
So I have spent the last few months, keeping myself busy with work (lots if overtime) and enjoying family life.
Anyway that's enough of my rambling,
stay strong everyone!

Hi Mr B, another great update last week. Checking in on 51 days gamble free - should reach 100 days around Christmas so that's great incentive. Continuing to be positive and taking small steps, one day at a time to remain gamble free for the remainder of this year. Keep strong everyone.
