Hi All - checking in and will be 199 days GF this Saturday!

Great to see you getting back on your feet Mr B, precise and succint update, and I am sure you will be getting so very excited about the New Years Honour role, and being your last update! Can't wait and will be sad to see you move on, but I am sure Phil will make the 2015 challange as great an event as the 20145 one is.

Good luck Phil, and will be proud to march alongside you and all others for 2015. regarding Mr B's last set of questions for the year....LOL

  • What things would you start, stop and/or continue? That I feel is up to Phil as head honcho for the 2015 March but personally I like the stats and the role of honor plus every so often the lists of questions. Thats good for newbies too as helps them integrate with the group!
  • Is there anything that you feel really passionately about that you would like to see included? Nope - just the GF day numbers!
  • Is the check in frequency correct? Is it too much or just right? Yep - just right as long as Phil will check in those who are on holiday / away etc!
  • Are the milestones right? Should there be more or less? Any that are missing? Just about right - everyone has a personal milestone(s) - but the big numbers are great to get to see and get through!
  • What “features” would you like to see coming into the updates? None spring to mind!!
  • Is the “Overcoming Problem Gambling” section the right section on the forum or should it be moved to the Recovery area? I think its the right place. Not every soldier is in recovery [when is that??] and it is where a lot of new members would look first for help!

Well - thats my 6d worth & hope it helps Mr B & Phil on the start of 2015 and the end of 2014.

Keep strong and be vigilent all as the Xmas stress racks up and the Boxing & NY Day races + all the footie etc bring their temptations. And I echo Mama B's advice. Expensive presents do not make Xmas - people do and being GF and there for your loved ones & friends as a gamble free person on the road to recovery is the best pressie you can give!

Have a great week everyone and see you on the other side of Mr B's Sunday update.

Kind regards, Cliff - GF by choice, abstaining one day at a time + marching forward to a 100% GF future!

Checking in on day 93, this time next week will have hit 100 days for the second time this year and I have this forum and Mr B to thank.

No changes to the format I can think of. Will have a think and let you know as I will be sticking around to get the full 365 days free next September.

Hi all been a busy week. Thanks for checking me in Mr b . On Sunday I am 323 days gamble free . I haven't contributed to the sight much as sometimes it makes me think about gambling that's just my personal view . Life has been sad due to recent family bereavement but this didn't trigger any feelings of gambling. Well done all who made it to the year and to those who have made a day it's all steps in the right direction.I am going to make this my last checkin and thank all for the support given to me will post on my 365 day on my diary. So enjoy Christmas all. Fond farewell hitthefanx

Hi Phil, I will be joining you in 2015 and very proud to be doing so.

Sorry to see Mr B go, he had done a fantastic job on this challenge, but totally understand, and I look forward to Phil taking over the reigns.

I can't think st this time of any changes, except like what Cliff has said about holidays, (I wished lol) hopefully next year.

Congratulations John on 200 days fantastic achievement.xx

HTF sorry you are leaving but you are doing fantastic and I wish you the very best.xx

Take care and stay safe all,

Suzanne xx

Thanks for the feedback Cliff, I have a few ideas of my own and won't be making huge changes, but its important all the members have their say as I want it to work for everyone.

Jspaghetti watch this space I think the new thread for the 2015 challenge will be put up on Sunday, but in the meantime you can join in with the 2014 challenge and see out the year here.

Anyone else with any feedback please have your say, any new ideas are welcome.

Morning all.

Checking in on day 77, still going strong in the right direction.

The format for me has worked well. As the days rack up, if I think of any suggestions, I'll put them forward.

Have a great day all.

Afternoon all,

First day of no gambling today. Kept myself busy by moving in to my girlfriends house for 5 weeks as parents off to Australia. Struggle will start tomorrow when back at work in centre of town surrounded by bookies etc.

Onwards and upwards.

Checking in on day 90 of no gambling. Look forward to seeing this evolve in the new year, it's a big help.

Had my first very full on vivid gambling dream for a while last night - playing slots, hitting features, big wins but couldn't withdraw, hiding it from my GF. Took me a while after waking up to figure out that it hadn't happened. Not great , but I suppose the guilt and shame coming through in the dream might be a good sign?!

Checking in. Many apologies for missing last weeks check in, I have reasons but don't want to make excuses. Still no gambling, a bit concerned about the xmas period as its usually a big gambling time for me, but desperately want to go into the new year clean and do for a full gamble free 2015. My second child is due in march so I need no further motivation.
Keep up the good work all.
Mark

Evening all, checking in at day 23 I think. I'll be out for most of the next few days at various Christmas things with family, so no time to even contemplate throwing my money at the bookies.

Hope you all have a great gamble free weekend.

Checking in hastily in this very busy (manic?) week - well done to all on your milestones. Phil - I think you will be a brilliant leader following on from Mr B; I have no problems with the current set-up but can imagine you will bring your own style to the updates etc. and with a very deep understanding (like Mr B) of the ups of downs of this campaign. Best wishes.

Joanna
