Sorry to read of your slip onemoredaylesmis, but well done for getting straight back up, and marching onwards,
Your recovery journey has not gone back to zero, far from it, it's ongoing. Xx
Welcome aboard to the challenge NT, it's good to see you marching along side all of us on this threadxx
Checking in on day 52 gamble free, just got past the half century which is great, this challenge us really helping as I am competitive and like to see my days tot up!
Been a tricky view days with money available and opportunity, stayed strong and kept cards at home.
To everyone else on their recovery path, whether on day 1 or 500, each day GF is a success, set small goals and the days will fly by.
Today is a good day, today is a gamble free day.
HI Phil et al,
Checking in for the week..on Day 433. Still going strong and no real urges to gamble...am foculsing hard on my recovery and trying to make the right choices daily.
Hope everyone is well.
8 days without a bet today.

Congratulations those reaching milestones, and welcome to the new soilders. Checking in 173. Amazing what almost 6 months can bring being GF.....
The shell of a human being existed in a dream world full of lies and deceit is slowly but surely being replaced by an open and honest person that actually cares and listens to other people.
Have a good week.
Andy
Evening troops!!
Congratulations to everyone on the continuing journeys and to those celebrating significant milestones. Congratulations also to the Big Philla on his continuing commitment to the task of running this challenge - take some pressure off yourself Phil and don't forget that you're only responsible for one recovery & one alone. I'd certainly support a shift to a once a fortnight update or even a weekly count and a monthly update if that would give you the headroom to deal with work etc. I just admire you and appreciate your efforts.......I completely get the frustrations on check ins!
That's me back from holiday, started a new job and looking forward to balancing work and life more appropriately.
I'm checking in just over 18 months clean but not complacent. The temptation is still there and the barriers are still controlled - was in close proximity to a casino on holiday - the triangle was complete and I had to relinquish all money - especially given I was drinking most nights.
Stay strong everyone!
Mr Bx
So sorry to hear of your slip OneMoreDayLesMis, but well done on getting back on here and choosing to keep fighting!
Thanks for the post Mr B, great to hear of your new job and your support. I was struggling and finding myself in a dark place, but now I'm feeling a lot more positive. There have been so many amazing messages of support for me here and I will be keeping this updated once a week as its helping so many fellow troops and in the last couple of weeks they have helped me. You may need to make a comeback on Sunday 6th and 13th September if you fancy it!
Keep the check ins coming troops!
Phil - if you're meaning that you're still heading off on hols and it'd support you in that then count me in mate........although I'll need some refresher training 🙂
Mr B
Checking in on day 169. A slight wobble last saturday, really fancied a dabble on the derby and champions league final. Turns out I would have won but thought things through and reassured myself it would be so stupid of me to go back to it all. I knew deep down if id won id have wanted more and if id lost I would want my money back and ended up chasing.
So in summary my ongoing day could waa more important to me than the bet. I didnt even need to win a few quid, I was just wanting that dopamine rush.
Checking in for the week as I sit here packing to go down to Dublin for the weekend for the football. Being gamble free has helped me be able to enjoy things like this more as money isn't as tight and I'm not praying a horse wins to recover the money I've thrown away
personally I find having something to aim for like a trip away has helped keep me focused on this task of staying gamble free, know it doesn't work for everyone but might be worth trying 🙂
Checking in for this week and will hit 100 days next week! That milestone felt impossible when I hit my day of armageddon. I have been resolute on working extra to pay what I owe and will hopefully continue that going forward!
Huge thanks for all that contribute and run this website, it really has been such a massive help for me.
Hi all
Checking in for another gf week, keep marching forward troops.
Scott
Checking Inn day 74
Checking myself in for the week on day 13. Feeling more in control and positive about life. Those dates are when I will be away Mr B! Fortunately despite a slip my pay increase and plenty of overtime means I'm still going away. 84 clean days to go till i fly out and I will hit day 100 during my first week in New York.
Keep the check ins coming troops, loads are in early this week, but still a fair few missing!
Checking in still going strong
Affected by gambling?
