I have lost Thousands of pounds in weatherspoons slot machines while the world cup has been on.
I asked to be banned from the premises and the manager said yes we can ban you but the staff have never recognised me once and keep letting me in. One one occasion I lost a significant amount of money. I am talking half my monthly income. I need help and weatherspoons does not help me. I tried by speaking to the Manager.
I am really sorry to hear this we have a weatherspoons next to a cinema my gambling problem was in bookies and arcades which i have been self excluded from using moses those machines are basically everywhere so i havent stepped foot in spoons i did go to a snooker centre with a pub which has those machines as i am addicted to fobt i am still a risk to those horrendous machines most people on here are addicted to online gambling so wont really understand i was thinking of going into spoons to watch the world cup which i have done in past however i will stick to watching it at home i had this same issue at a bowling allay and their no messures implimented like other venues i strongly any place that has any form of gambling should have an option to self exclude or atleast ban u off the premises👍
Sorry to hear this and I feel for you but any company won't take responsibility. If you are putting cash in, ring your bank and remove ATM withdrawals on your account. If you are paying by card then block gambling transactions on your bank account. Maybe the answer, unfortunately is to not go to the pub until you are stronger to stop yourself playing. Have you told your friends who you go with about your problem and ask them to stop you ? Pub fruit machines are difficult to self exclude from unlike bookies, casinos and online etc
Weatherspoons Is a pub chain not a gambling operator they are highly unlikely to be trained in dealing with gambling addicts and staff turnover is likely too high and casual to enforce this type of ban especially when you can just walk in without even going to the till or having any interaction with staff.
I would advise simply not going there rather than chancing it
Affected by gambling?
