Hi Everyone,
Checking In - Day 213
Its great to be a member of this strong team. Gambling wrecks your head.
Suzy
Checking in only one slip on a bandit on boxing day in the last 63 days and no gambling in 2015 which i intend to keep that way!! Recovery is teaching me a lot about myself and I feel free of addiction!
Checking in on day 58 a really positive week almost not even thinking of gambling at the moment well aware the tide can turn at any moment have a great week fellow soldiers
The update is almost finished but I have to go to work now, hard work doing it whilst hung over and major computer problems this week have hampered me as I have lost some pre prepared data. So as soon as I finish work at ten I will finish it off, I expect it will be on for about 1130 tonight. Sorry for the delay, will be back to normal next week.
Lost in action - £2k done in hours last night (sport). Was £400 up!
Good luck all - if you are feeling tempted don't bother. At least let there be some value to you all in my actions. I know I'm "good" at what I do and I am no mug, however, it only goes one way. Must say was out of mind yesterday - working hard at the moment and have screwed up big time. Finding the torture of this a lot harder to get over. Good in a way as years ago would just wake up brush myself down and continue. Now it erodes sleep/diet/motivation and all. Still not dressed!!!!
Well done for organising this Phil. Probably needed a run up to it as the concept is spot on.
Good luck all.
As for me personal committment to abstain until 19 Feb (Dad's 90th).
Measures in place - which will work.
No problem Bornagain, it's a big commitment and we are all really grateful that you're doing this at all!
strauss - so sorry, bad luck. But regardless of how much the loss is, one slip up doesn't mean it's over does it. You're absolutely right to get back on the wagon immediately and the feelings that you have are necessary to beat this evil addiction because as you say, if you dust yourself off without much of a second thought, what have you learned? Nothing. So, see this as a flesh wound, not lost in action. Supporting you in your journey as ever.
