Checking in on Day 7 of this fantastic challenge (apologies I was a little late checking in!)
Hi,
Day 1
I joined the 100 day challenge, so I may as well join this too. I am on Day 1. My problem is FOBT'S. Have been in and out of the bookies most of my life. My max bet was £2 on a horse. I was curious about FOBT's because I saw people drawing some serious winning's. Sucked in I was! I was good at it, and was winning, but have go to the addiction stage. I put my last penny into it yesterday. The last 24 hours have been very sobering for me. I am determined not to put another penny into them stupid machines. There is so much more to life.
Will check in each Sunday.
Thanks everyone
J
Checking in on day 629, great to see so many soldiers joining for 2017, we can do this, one day at a time x

Thanks deano
A worked it out deano cheers, and a was actually thinking about opening up my shares account again but a opted for a roulette instead, it's been bugging me over the Christmas a was VERY bored and tht normally leads to it, but a feel relived now and like a said a was able to stop, and am never able to do tht.
What i have been doing the last 100 days to stop gambling is I watch ppl on YouTube I've steaming on slots, roulette etc.... (tocknrolla, the bandit, and stop n step) bizzaree I no but it helped me, they were doing the gambling for me it felt like.
Dry gambaling I believe it's called I used to do it myself back when I first joined and I put it down to why I relapsed back then. I found a better way was to cut all ties completely. I guess for me it was more if I'm not gambaling why do I need to watch it. Trust me knock the video's on the head they will do you no good in the long run
Thanks little miss lost and Hereford a will give tht a go , a must admit tho for me to do that 100 days was a new me ! A think hanging round this forum speaking to people witch I have never ever done before might just help. Feeling good , and feeling positive!!
Checking in at 110.

day 8 checking in
Hello lovely people. A bit late for the party but I'd love to join. Currently on 192 days and loving life.
Online slots were my kryptonite, totally wiped me out mentally, emotionally and financially. However have a StepChange payment plan in place with some 2 and a half years to go. I have opted not to have a direct debit but every month I log in an pay the eye-watering amount, which is treble my mortgage, and this continues to reinforce the damage I have done and strengthens my resolve not to get into that position ever again.
Recovery can be a long and painful journey however I believe with support, encouragement and friends to walk with we can get there with a smile on our face and a wee bit more cash in our pockets (or partners pocket if you have the triangle robustly in place!)

Checking in again for the week
good to see so many check in's - lets keep it going ALL YEAR LONG
Not sure if I should check in again but hey I'm on day 18 and that's after lots of urges so I'm happy with that!!
Having to take it one day at a time . If I can get through each day the gf count will continue to grow and my hope for a better future will still be on track. x
Well done everyone
