1027, 370, 284 ....these are numbers to aspire to....don't know if those of you with bigger numbers realise the grounding you give this forum. Us 'novices' flounder around like headless chickens at times, you keep grinding through the days, showing it is possible, life does get better, and the importance of staying focussed. Thank you.

Hi. I managed approx 150 days previously but flunked it up in December. I'm now on day 3 and determined to see this through the year and way beyond. I have an addiction to online slots. My grand total of debt is now just over £33k in the space of about 18 months. This averages about £2k loss per month and is just INSANE. I have every kind of block in place, and have just put my life back on track with the help of Stepchange. I used to be obsessed with how quickly I could pay back the debt so tried to win more and more to pay it off quicker, but the exact opposite happened and it just got out of hand. I stopped because I felt physically sick, emotionally drained, and remember sitting on my bed one night with a pen and paper in my hand trying to rack my brain how I could afford to get through the month and calculating every single gambling transaction that was still due to go through my account the next day. Needless to say, I was left with MINUS every month, and just maxed every credit card I ever had. My credit score is now as bad as it can get, but at least I am regaining my sanity. The debt will take 6 years and 9 months to repay at the current rate, but at least it's now an affordable rate of £390 a month and there is no secret interest being added on. onwards and upwards. Good luck everyone xx

Checking in for the week. I'm not missing gambling at all at the moment. Apparently it takes 60 something days to properly break a habit. Two months to go!

Good luck all,

Honk

, I have self excluded myself from all the sites I was registered to, so that will help, as I am writing this message there has been loads of ads on the telly for online casino sites, I wonder what the customer retention rates are for these outfits is as it strikes me that they constantly drive to acquire new customers, at some point they will run out of customers and hopefully the industry will implode.

Checking in on day 14, it's not exactly long but it's the longest I've went without gambling in a while so I'm feeling real good about it! 🙂
