So I enjoy online slots... Unless of course I am losing and getting tilted. I watch a streamer play slots and for a while it was working as a method to stop me from gambling myself. But recently he won a lot of money which got me very tilted and jealous, so I deposited more than comfortable amounts myself to try and get in on the luck. Even just £20 profit would have been fine but I could not win a penny. I don't know what to do, it just seems I am very unlucky most of the time - I am £820 down across all sites, some of which I am up but most of which I am down to. I feel terrible and don't know what to do.

What advice are you looking for?

£20 profit wouldn't have been fine, it would only be a matter of time before you lost it and then some. Watching people play slots - what exactly does that do for you?

Watching people play slots is a way for me to satisfy my slots itch without using my own money. But it backfired a bit when he won an astronomical amount of money, more than me and my wife earn in a year and I watched it happen live. Then it made me question luck in general - especially when I couldnt win a thing when we need money more than this guy who is already wealthy. Just frustrates me. I think that my gambling can get out of control when I lose my s**t like this (excuse the profanity) so that's what I need advice for.

What do you want to do?

If you want to stop gambling there's plenty of advice and support here to help you do just that but it strikes me you just want to stop losing. If that's the case this isn't the place to ask.

So maybe time to think about not watching slots anymore and scratch your itch another way that doesn't involve gambling , if you want to give up then do it and walk away , fill your life with something / anything else that gives you something and I know your probably gonna say that " Nothing does it for me like gambling does " but I've been there and truthfully Life gives me the kick these day's , so give it a go :))

I guess truthfully of course I want to stop losing, but it won't happen so instead - I want to stop gambling all together. It isn't going to be easy as I do enjoy some elements of it and I'd be stopping whilst being 800 quid down. So really I need some support in stopping all together. I'm sure there are people that have done it here that can shine some light on it.

I stopped after having 10k worth of debt due to gambling and many others on here have even bigger losses but the truth is we never stop when were up do we ? and that's where the phrase on here comes from " We cannot win because we cannot stop " , enough will never be enough so if youve got away with losing just 800 quid then I'd use that as a positive .

I also used to enjoy gambling and if I'm honest I'd probably gamble again if I could control it but I can't and it's taken me many years to realise that flaw in myself , it all then just boils down to acceptance of that fact and if you accept something it no longer becomes a problem , it sounds simple when put like that but gamblings brought you here because of what it's done to you so why will anything be any different if you have one or two more bets or another month or two gambling ? .

Iv'e been gamble free for a couple of years now and with that time has come reflection and clarity as to what I'd been missing for so long , I spent so many years thinking about where I wanted to be instead of enjoying where I am and what I do have.

You can do this you just have to want it more than you want that next bet :))

I stopped when I was 16.5k down. I used to enjoy different aspects of gambling but the last 6 months active were a nightmare, a never-ending rollercoaster. If you really want to stop gambling all together then read around the forum, there's plenty of advice out there that will help you with this. GA (Gamblers Anonymous), counselling, self-exclusion, blocking software, all these are a good start. It all hinges on a desire to stop gambling. Take a step back and look at what gambling has done to your life - then ask yourself why on earth would you want to continue.

Stop streaming people playing slots, the term 'masturbating the brain' comes to mind here .Did you ever consider those streaming are being paid by gambling sites to stream winning large jackpots in order to entice others, especially CG's like yourself?

Thank you both for sharing that. Its very insightful reading what you both said and you have very very good points, so I have now self-excluded my self from all the sites I have ever been signed up to. Hopefully the journey ahead of me will be a good and smooth one. No more slots for me.
