So the other day i came across a post on here that i really thought was a good point. It was about how can banks help us by stopping us when we hit a limit from an online spend. Just like what the bank machines do.
Well today i was going through my online banking and i ended up finding this feature with Barclays. You can cap your online spend which i think is great as it can be another point of protection to help with gambling.
Thought it would be good to share with everyone who bank with Barclays and also for people who don't. For you who dont its worth the check in your online banking settings.
Im glad i found this as for the early days of getting over this, it will really help.
Hi Sam
Many thanks for sharing this. We moved your post to the Overcoming Problem Gambling section as it is more relevant here than in Debates and Discussions.
Thanks
Rebecca
Hi i dont see any information on a barclays online cap, do you have any links to this information?
Darren I googled Barclays basic account. They are for people with bad credit history etc. Money savings expert also popped up with 3 one of them the co- op. Try that, good luck!
Hi thanks for reply, i went to barclays and yes the savings account you can make it a cash only card so only at cash point and cant use online but you cant set up direct debits so iv had to open the basic account aswell for my bills, and just not have a card for that account, so i will get what i need to live on transferee from the bills account to my cash only account, say £50 a week, its not perfect but its better than what i had before with natwest, i just have to make sure i dont download there app as i can literally transfer from one account to another in seconds
Affected by gambling?
