Whenever I stop betting I still look at football scores and think about what I would have done. Tonight I would have won so I feel like I have lost. I know I can't keep thinking like this and stay stopped but I check sports results almost as compulsively as I gamble. Can I ever enjoy sport without thinking about odds again?
I can relate to you mate I'm a big football head aswell and always watch football,in only 4 days gamble free but for the 1st time I feel like I can look at football results and not feel the urge to bet,i would do the same lotto numbers in the bookies every Tuesday and Friday have done them for the last two years religiously and obsessively (unhealthily)but yesterday was the 1st day I didn't do them and I didn't even check if my numbers came out and I'm not going to either because I've finally come to the realisation that money isn't everything and that family is,life is,being a CG destroys your life and family there's no big win that's ever going to be big enough,that's what I keep telling myself anyway,I know there's harder days ahead but if I can keep telling myself this I know I won't do it and can watch the footy without worrying what the scores will be.dont know if this will help you or not mate but it's the way forward for me.good luck
