I thought I would cover this topic as it covers myself in a lot of ways and hopefully I can help others who may fall into this category of crypto and cross addiction.

I have owned crypto currency for some time now as well as silver and gold as I have seen both of them as money more so than Fiat currency. To simplify the majority on this forum accept what they earn and spend and sadly end up gambling in fiat currency most of the time.

What we have to accept is that what ever form it is it’s just a tool and we end up throwing are tools away to gambling companies this can be done in the crypto currency world as well as the normal fiat world either it be cash or traditional banking online gambling.

Now understandably it’s easy to paint a brush over crypto currency and the crypto space in general as a place of gambling and the majority of it has been for many years now and I have read posts of people getting into difficulties due to "investing" or otherwise gambling in crypto sadly.

I am well aware of sites which circumvent Gamban and other software tools to keep people safe and away from gambling. Due to this being a new technology I can understand there won’t be much defence sadly any time soon in regards to that but the reality is it’s up to the individual to put blocks in place and put as many barriers as they can to protect themselves.

I am currently coming up to a year gamble free but will Openly admit I have made crypto currency purchases during this time in which I still hold now. I know myself and have been there with crypto trading extra in the past and count that as gambling.

It’s very difficult to draw the line in regards to this as time moves on and the crypto space becomes more and more part of are lives as the years roll on. Understandably I respect people who wish to have no part in it and see it as a form of gambling.

I have met people who don’t have smart phones because of the easy access to online gambling and that works for them and keeps them away from gambling. Once again it’s up to the individual and knowing yourself in regards to this.  (It’s you’re recovery journey)

I have been fighting my addiction for a long time and my cross addiction with trading has been exceptionally bad in the past and thankfully I have put that behind me but I am always aware of the dangers, a advert, a website, a bonus etc etc and I stay away from it because I know how much damage can be done within minutes.

Now I also saw a post over the past couple of weeks which covered the end of cheap money with interest rates rising so please be aware of that if you’re spiralling and get high interest loans as now it will become even more harder to pay back and get on with life.

On that subject when you start to understand the global financial banking mechanism I do wonder if those at the helm of institutions are just gambling themselves and at no fault of their own due to what has been previously left to them to deal with. It’s there risk and it’s just gets riskier while we are at the mercy of it.

One of the reasons fiat currency is trusted and used is because everyone uses it within their country for transactions and have faith in it while living a normal life. But some time in the future much like other countries currently experiencing high inflation and their savings value being eroded away due to mismanagement by either governments or banking institutions one day there own gambling mechanisms may fail hence my ownership of silver and gold.

This post is no way a endorsement to go out and buy either silver or gold or even crypto currency. My point here is to show how fragile the system is and the choices I have made as a individual while I move forward towards sound money in my mind. I expect things to change and integration to happen over time and this is part of my journey.

As I am experienced in this area, my concern is that when the new influx of people into the crypto space happens again many here will be dragged in as well, so I would advise learning more about money itself and understand what’s going on before compulsively being dragged into it.

Once we all have a better understanding then moving on is also key and to enjoy life as normally as we can. Of course the shocks will come in the financial sector and I am looking out for that currently as I am sure it will affect me at some point as a global recession is highly likely to happen.

I believe hard times are coming and everyone here who is in recovery will find it hard if not already and I hope you can get through it with the struggles and make gambling one less struggle while pushing through it.

Just remember what ever you think money is please treat it as a tool to use to better ones life and to live it as normally as possible without looking to make ridiculous gains in it.

I am fully open to replies and insights from others and thank you for reading. I am no way a expert i am just sharing my thoughts.
