After losing 3200 pounds I managed through a seriously sick rollercoaster to make back 2700 of it by betting only 0,50 pounds a spin on slots. I just won won won won won. U guessed whats happened now. Im down even more i just started to lose lose lose lose S****y bonuses etc. Down 4200 pounds now. I just cant get over these losses. I f****d it all up. I f*****g cant stop now... Im deep in it. I want to stop but I want to win it all back but its f*****g impossible. Ive lied to people close to me... I dont have words.

Hi

i feel your pain but chasing a loss don’t work you’ll never actually be up even if in one spin u win big it’ll go again n you’ll be back again, take the loss and let that be that learn from it and don’t let them take more of your money

good luck

Where are you that you can't use Gamstop? I re read your post from a month ago but it doesn't say when I asked then.

Can you install Gamban the gambling blocking software?

Have you called Gamcare to speak to an adviser?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing every time and expecting a different outcome. If you want to stop how you are feeling please try to do something different this time.

Use your diary and let the forum know how you are feeling each day and take it one day at a time.

Chris.

It is gone. Money won't come back from any slots today. I wrote earlier posts that it is really all a dopamine ride. The flashing lights and sound are just to keep you there in front of the machine. Once your focus has kept you spending your cash you crash out. Most of us do. The machines have something going called cognitive regret. That means it keeps on loosing while your dopamine levels are at its highest so that you keep on pushing the spin button on autopilot. The guy who invented all this was Dr skinner who boasted that he could make pigeons addicted. He did. So the best way to win is not to play.

there is not a lot we can say again

as others have said there are no magic words to solve your problems you have to be responsible for taking action against the addiction

its easy to come on here after a loss and look for a shoulder to cry on ......much harder to stick to  a recovery program for an indefinite period of time but it its the only way to start feeling better

Except theres nothing I can do. I cant use gamstop, gamban doesnt work, I have no GA meetings here, cant block my cards because you can deposit without cvc numbers. I asked a close one if they would take my money, but they would not do that after I told I had a relapse again. So they dont understand the severity. So what the f**k should I do? Your comment suggests that you as well dont understand the severity we are going though. I dont need sympathy. I dont even f*****g know why i post anymore.

How come you cant use gamstop.?

Can u change banks to one like monzo that wouldn't allow gambling transactions ?

Have u phone gamcare to ask for support to try the online ccbt module that's helpful. ?

If you want to stop and move forward there is help give gamcare ring there very helpful

But at the end of the day if chasing losses worked none of us would be here..the only winning you can do right now is stopping gambling.

Dear Lowsx100 ,

I am sorry to see by your recent posts that you seem to be having a hard time at the moment.

If you are having problems with Gamstop and Gamban, please get in touch on the helpline (0808 802 0133) or the netline and one of our advisers will talk you through it and try and help you to find out why you're having trouble.

We can also give advice about which banks can help you with an account that does not enable gambling transactions.

I don't think other forum members are trying to give you sympathy but rather offering support by sharing their own experiences on how they dealt with similar issues.

Your posts are very important to everyone on the Forum so please do keep posting. I can understand you're frustrated but you're never alone. There is always help, advice, information and support available 24/7.

I wish you all the very best.

Keely

All I've asked is where you are that means you can't use Gamstop and why Gamban doesn't work for you. There are a lot of solutions to your problem but unless you give a little more info  I'm stuck with advice.

Through GA I know a lot of people around the world with a lot of different solutions to getting through a day at a time.

You aren't devoid of help but it seems like you have an excuse every time someone offers suggestions without us knowing the reasons behind those excuses.

I'd love to be able to help you.

Chris.

Im somewhere in Europe. A place where gamblock is unavailable. Gamban doesnt work on my phone and I can just uninstall it from my pc. Gamstop would remove every urge as I know I could not get paid and that would make me stop doing it im pretty sure

There are other types of blocking software that you install that can't be taken off as well as software that will work on whatever type of phone you have.

The point is though that these are blocks, not a foolproof way to stop your gambling. They are just designed to allow you time to get over the immediate urge that can rise up. Even with Gamstop, if I wanted to have a bet I could find a way, but it's more a mental block that slows me down.

Ask yourself the honest question. Do I want to stop gambling and will I do anything to stop? I don't mean pick which bits you use or which bits you like, but anything to help you stay away from that first bet?

If so then let me make some suggestions. Please don't give me any excuses as to why you can't do these things but just think about your life and if life would be better by not gambling.

Call the advisors and talk about yourself. After a certain time gambling, gambling isn't the problem. You are the problem and gambling is the symptom. If you can get some help for you then it makes it easier to not need gambling as an escape.

Find a GA group. There might not be one in your area but there will be one in your country. It might take some driving but without knowing where you are I can't direct you.

Get rid of your computer and phone for a few months. Use a cheap phone that just makes calls and texts. Once you've gotten a few months away from a bet then possibly get the phone or computer back.

Just a few ideas. There isn't an easy way to do this I don't believe. There's no shortcut, like Gamstop, that will help long term. You need to put the work in on yourself and that's done through something like GA or counselling and there are online meetings at the moment, so even if there's not one near you, you could join a virtual one. The GA website has a list of virtual open meetings with the id number needed.

For me to stop I had to come to a place where I had hit my rock bottom(there was always another level down!) and whatever it took was what I did.

I couldn't give away my money this time but I went to three ga meetings a week and worked a steps program. You could do that on your own and write about it on your diary. Again, the GA website has some steps downloads and this site has similar self help utilities.

Just give it some thought and maybe come up with a plan and let us know.

Good luck to you.

Chris.

My stomach almost cant take it when i come back to this post... Things have changed so much since my last post but everything around me is still the same... Its surreal. 2 weeks have felt like 1 year seriously. I have never felt more awkward.

nevertheless, gambling now makes me vomit. I have never felt like this before about gambling. My hate towards gambling is now at a new level. I have quit smoking. Its been 2 weeks since i quit. I feel a super strong connection between gambling and smoking. I can honestly say that I am pretty positive I will never touch gambling again now that i am a non smoker. I strongly advise people to think this over and join me! Have a safe future everyone 🙂

I can remember this post like it was yesterday. Its now gone 322 days since the days of horror. Life is insanely better without the volatile sick roller coasters and all the pain and suffering that comes with gambling.

Hope you are doing good
