Hi all. I just had the dreaded "overdrawn" txt from my bank and it's only Jan 5th! I don't even know how as I haven't gambled! Looks like even 50 odd days later it has a knock on effect!! I'm not happy!!

Need to kick myself into gear this year and get out of this crappy position I'm in financially!

I'm determined to make it right and I will! Anyone please give me financial inspiration! Please please!! I need to know that there is light at the end of the financial tunnel by not gambling!

Thank you for reading and taking the time to concern yourself with me!!

Hi,

If you have any debts etc I use Stepchange and a debt management plan is in place for one monthly payment to those I owe money to. ( If you are not in debt I apologise ).

In relation to finances I downloaded a money app and log everything that comes in and everything that goes out for this calendar year. I know any savings we make will only be a small amount, but the debt is being paid and I am not adding anymore debt onto the pile.

Some months are tougher than others and we have to watch what we buy as we only have a £10 overdraft which comes with the account.

Takes a bit of effort to set up and can sometimes be disheartening but it can help focus the mind and is well worth it in the end.

Also my OH can see the transactions on the app but she controls the cards and cash.

Best wishes

You will sort it out Thegerman.

Being free from gambling you can sit down and work out your finances.

It all boils down to what Charles Dickens said about money

"Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen [pounds] nineteen [shillings] and six [pence], result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery."

All you can do is schedule your debts and pay your way in life. People like the CAB will help and advise you. If you find the answer to earning more please let me know 🙂

The main thing is you are not gambling. Tell us more and we could help advise you

All the best

Hi

I would suggest you start by going on "themoneyadviceservice" website. You will find loads of tools and links to other providers who can help you.

Good luck in your continued recovery.

Hi all. Thanks for the advice. Turned out I was waiting for 370 quid in refund to go in. So I was glad of that.

I use a budget planner at moment so chuffed with progress,
