Hello all,

I haven't posted in a while. I'm glad to say I haven't been betting on Casino games for a long while now. I had a couple of slips last year when I got cocky and thought I was cured. Lost a month's wages each time and used the memory to spur me on for continued abstinence.

What I personally find helpful is to have constant reminders of how rigged and insidious the whole online betting world is - has anyone seen that godawful SuperCrapsino advert with young "s**y" looking black guy in a suit reciting a 6th formers poem about "The gathering storm, tonight it's real, tonight we play". It actually makes me want to vomit. It's trying to sell the idea there's some skill involved in a random (and probably fixed) pre-programmed result of roulette ball spinning, and it's somehow a "noble challenge". I'd like to see the after advert, where he's lost all his money, doesn't feel quite so clever, sweating and scared how he's going to pay his bills, whilst the limosene has long gone and he's waiting for the bus home in the P****n rain, but reaching into his pockets he realises he hasn't even got bus fare left! ha! That would be a fair advert.

Anyway, the point of my post is to show you this - ***

(I know gamcare is financed by the very same companies who don't want adverse publicity, but hopefully they'll let link remain as it's an important reminder of just how corrupt these gambling companies are, and how next time you feel tempted just remember to be strong and don't play to these muppets.

Best of luck to you all. Don't give in.

Hi Molehole,

It's good to see you posting again and I am glad that despite the slips you have experienced last year, you are still moving forward strong and full of courage. I like the idea for your alternative advert, it certainly is the reality for most members of this Forum.

I deleted the link you posted as it is not complying with our Forum rules. They ask everyone to "Please DO NOT upload images, video clips/films, or links to these, or post comments or messages which:

....

lobby against gambling industry services or promote political lobbying against the gambling industry or any other agencies", which your link does. The Forum rules are published here: http://www.gamcare.org.uk/support-and-counselling/frontline-services/chatroom/chatroom-and-forum-etiquette#.Vr23Eunct5i

You also may want to take a look at how Gamcare is funded, which is published here: http://www.gamcare.org.uk/about-us/donations-and-funding#.Vr23nenct5g

I wish you all the best for your recovery, keep going, Molehole, it's worth it.

Kind wishes

Gabriele

Sorry mama gamcare, my bad. I forgot we were dealing with vulnerable children.

I won't talk about gambling companies anymore.

I forgot who pays your bills.
