It always ends with 'that' big loss, you know the one I mean, wallet emptied, bank card used - wipes out any past winnings and more besides.

It may takes a few days, weeks or even months but always ends this way - these are the losses to remember when temptation comes your way.

First time on this site and first time I've ever communicated with anyone about my gambling problem (of 17 years). I've been pretty persistent if not serious enough to have crashed and had to seek help. However, I'm 35 and £4500 in debt having been in continual employment since 21.

Thought i'd cracked it before xmas but £310 down in 20 days suggests otherwise. Pretty sure that if gambling options wearn't around I wouldn't miss it for a second. Still easier to blame the industry/government then face up to it.

One ray of light is that I have learnt to become very frugal as a result of my gambling - otherwise I really would be in deep stuff. The upside is if I can knock this on the head then the difference in money will be immense.

Anyway, interesting to read others stories. Enough talk from me - only been 2 hours. Thanks for reading

Here's an idea for anyone stupid enough to play the roulette machine - assume you will eventually lose and you won't be disappointed !!

I use to play them and lost a lot of money lost count really but is several thousands over the year - i stop for a while and then start - I have lost 200 pounds tonight that why i am on this web site it is so upsetting. Please stop its no good. Seek help and there is a lot of advice but you must have willpower hope you do it and see the benefits.

I'm glad to say i have never ever played the FOBTs. Firstly they never interested me, but since reading and hearing about how bad they are i now make a point of not touching them as i now how addicted i would become. I have many other CG habits, but i laugh in the face of these machines when i walk in the shop! (almost literally!)

And you keep laughing as they are a complete con and a complete waste of time and money. Luckily I was relatively controlled but over 10 years still got through 4-5K.

Nobody who plays them will ever ever win in the long term - the only winners are the owners.

Keep up the good work and I hope you are soon laughing at all forms of gambling as whatever it is the outcome in the longterm is always the same !!

At what point will you realise that you cannot win in the long term and admit defeat?

Do you realise they are taking you for a mug?

Very honest post g-doggy. Exclusion is a very smart move and will make a huge difference.
