Hi all,

I haven't posted for a while. I have been intermittently flittering in/out of gambling online recently after promising myself I would stop. Now I need some additional assistance!

So, I wish to install either Gamblock or Betfilter. Does anyone have any idea which is better? Presumably they both do the same thing?

Thanks.

Straight up i would recommend Betfilter as its easier to set up. Gamblock has an irritating installation proceedure where you have to re-enter this code several times and keep re-downloading patches before the gamblock pop-up will go away. This potentially violates your privacy if others use the program.

Betfilter shows no visible program traces (unless you look for it) and cannot be uninstalled without a code which they make you wait an entire week for. I've found this allowed me to cool off and re-think my plans to remove it. Both products are similarly priced i think and in terms of functionality are virtually flawless. I have heard that even reformating your hard drive will not remove them.

Hi Coops

I`ve recently installed Betfilter and find it

100% effective. They offer a one week trial period which you might find helpful .

During this period you can uninstall at any time.

Have no experience of Gamblock though have read a suggestion somewhere that it`s

not quite as user friendly as Betfilter .

Cheers

Thanks for your replies.

Looking at the respective websites, Betfilter seems to "look better" as well!

I will give their free trial a go today.

I personally wouldn't recommend Gamblock.

"In my opinion"

Poor customer service (They took 2 weeks to reply to an e-mail) and plus it's a lot more expensive compared to Betfilter including discounts, I suppose.

I have signed up for th free trial on Betfilter and everything was going swimmingly........however......

My girlfriend was using *******, but was unable to log into paypal to purchase an item with the blocking filter on? Does anyone have any suggestions? I wouldn't have thought Paypal would cause a big deal?!

Hi

Since we only block gambling related sites and applications, then you should have no problems with Paypal.

Please send details to [email protected] and we will look into this for you at once.

Best regards

Per Albertsen, Betfilter.com

Cautious Paul, I am currently using a free trial of a program called "Terminator X" which will be easily found on a search engine... 28 days free which is suiting me at the moment as I'm in the same situation with no money!

Hi Bob,

Im not quite skint (£230 for the rest of the month) - but 4 weekends in that, and fuel, emergencies etc.....and no more access to family giving me money because they know what I would do with it.

I have installed Terminator X...is there a more long term program??

Well with TerminatorX you can pay for the full version... but personally once the trial of this runs out I'm going to install GamBlock... it just seems to have the best reputation.

Well I hope you have a good time with your £230! I get paid on Friday, so it's not so bad... until then though I have £2.50, and two days of college to go, so I guess I'll be borrowing money from my parents to get lunch. For the last time hopefully!

although i downloaded betfilter it blocked a few poker sites then i found one it didnt blocl like a sneaky child i played AND LOST, however i emailed betfilter numerous times to explain i could get on this site, they just kept telling me to turn off computor twice then re-start but it still kept happening, i was getting very scared as we know we cant be trusted. so i was a little dissappointed with their customer service.

Hi, I was thinking to buy a software to install in my computer to stop myself access to gambling website.

They cost something like $51 to $78 for a year. Luckily, i found one which is free for personnel home use.

http://www1.k9webprotection.com/aboutk9/overview

you just need to edit the option and tick on the gambling option and it only blocks the gambling websites. Type the password randomly on Microsoft Words without looking at them. Then copy and paste the password in when regisyter the account with K9. Then email the password (extremely important) to your loves one. Make sure the he/she wont lose the password but i hope either one of us will ever need the password back.

Note: you can change the password by the email that you registered. Make sure you register an email for this and use the same password from K9. This will prevent yourself from resetting the password and they can send a temporary password to your email.

Good luck with that. No more gambling, Finito

I have used Betfilter for the last year and I find it to be very good and user-friendly. It is easy to install, blocks all gambling sites and is invisible when on your pc, also, they have now included a free Ad blocker as well so all good. And if you like the free trial you can get it free for a year either with Gamcare or U****t. Code is unibet100. Good Luck
