On the lunchtime news today there was an item regarding the Government's intention to prevent betting shop chains expanding further in High Streets. There was also an indication that FOBT machines would have a stake limit imposed. (I wish they would extend this to online sites!)
I'd be interested to see what others think of this news...
I think it can only be a good thing,I think FBOT's can be a gateway to casinos for people who have just turned 18,Lads (especially) go in and place a footy bet for 5/10 and then think "oh sod it i'll stick my other 5/10 in" and before they know it they are 100 down after 5mins and walking away only to return the next day to begin chasing and so becomes the pattern we all know so well,Personally i think they should take away cash machines from inside bookies or placing bets with you debit card.
yes im am 35 this year i agree they really should look at the internet side of gambling there is far too many sites around there is no definite checks they make it so easy to deposit but such hard work to withdraw your money when i was 18 there were only a few around but there is so many adverts of internet gambling around daytime and night time the internet side is not properly regulated and its been going on for too long now its so easy to join up sites these days with no questions about your gambling background experience they make it hard to self exclude some sites you have to send an email or ring them up they dont make it easy to self exclude at all i really think they should crack down on it big time i think with the high street bookmakers they are using these deposit limits to cover there backs
and there is far too many bookmakers around now im fed up with people saying it creates jobs but what about all the lives that have been ruined by them yes people are responsible for there own actions i really do like james P comments on this as i can relate to them so well ive got to the stage that if i win i dont get excited by it anymore its just stake money cause youre feeding your addiction
Affected by gambling?
