So iv just lost money again once again! may be hardly anything to some people but in contex to me is quite alot! £170 gone with in a few spins!

you feel on top of the world then bang gone with in 5 or six spins you chase to win it back and loose more! nothing wose than feeling down after you have lost like this. If only i could turn it back I know i wouldn't do it again. Just hope i have the urge to finally stop now!

Welcome to recovery Matt 🙂

It doesn't matter what the figures are, we all share your pain! You are young with your whole life ahead of you & you must find a way to stop this now! You need to find a way to break your Time-Money-Location triangle as removing 1 will stop you gambling! I think on the other post you mention this damage was done online...There are blockers to help stop this (K9) I believe is a free one! I am nervous about hearing that you only want to stop the spinning...The experts on here promote total abstaining & their recoveries speak for themselves!

Whatever you decide kid, you have come to the right place & we will all be rooting for you - ODAAT

Hi Matt,

It can take an experience like this for someone to realise that their gambling is out of control. You staked an amount of money that you consider valuable through sheer impulse, not thinking about the consequences of losing.

We've all done it, and believe it or not you could now start to look on this experience in a positive way. Instead of the 11th of February being the evening you lost £170, it can be the day you decided to own up to your problems and make a change - well done for having the strength to post.

Try using this experience to combat any future impulses. You will get them, and you will need to figure out a way to say "STOP: I do not wish to face the consequences of losing this money." Remind yourself how you felt on that Wednesday evening.... "Nothing worse than feeling down after you have lost like this" - These are your own words!

There will always be support for you on this forum if you found it soothing to post here.

Ryan

Hi Matt 94.

ODAAT has got it right. Get the blocks on. It's the only way.

You can self exclude from your High St bookies as well.

Ask Ryan has words of wisdom as well.

You have to take note of what people say to you on the Forum.

Keep yourself busy. Do Exercise (running, play football etc, go to the cinema etc). It helps me keep off gambling.

Your future is in your own hands. Don't wreck it like I did to a big part of mine.

THINK ABOUT IT.

Cheers.
