I just lost £1400 on the roullette.. I feel empty and sick.. this has happened to much im so fed up of it. I've lost thousands over the years and I just cant seem to get it into my head. I just want to be a normal person and not have this dirty habit. I'm only young and I feel like when I get older i'll end up gambling away my house, car etc. I don't know what to do.

Ring gamcare now. You need to talk it over with someone.

Take the first step.

I feel so f*****g stupid. I am so stingy when it comes to spending money, like I really need basic thing's and I sometimes go without. But I just go and spend that much on a game. Its rediculous. I've had enough. :[

Im kind of over it now, I'm quite good at blocking things out. I just need to stop obsessing over money and live life, there's no point dwelling on it, I'm never going to get it back unless I work hard and stay focused. I've self excluded from everything and I still have money in the bank, life goes on and I cant change anything what happens. I'm going to speak to GamCare sometime when I feel ready but this thread was in the heat of the moment.

I do not know what to say....... I literally don't... I just logged into my roullette account to self exclude and I didn't click confirm on the bet.. This is a miracle, but it definately is a huge wake up call for me. What was I thinking, Im going to get help now whilst I can.

Get help now or this situation will just happen again - and again until you deal with it.

Ring Gamcare, Go to a GA meeting (they are not as bad as you probably think and for some are the best option and only way they will ever stop) because I gaurentee you that if you don't act now, you WILL do it again..and again ..and again I know this because I am you and whilever that addiction is talking to you (that is what made you make this post ''Im kind of over it now, I'm quite good at blocking things out''

20 minutes after ''wanting to die'' don't let it fool you mate

How much do you want to stop and what are you willing to do ? you can have a great life or no life

Good luck brother

Hello Zlime

I was really sorry to read the title of your post, and am wondering how you're doing now. I can see you've already had a lot of support from other forum users, and I hope that's helped you realise you're certainly not alone.

You said that you are good at blocking things out and suggested that you're over the problem now. Perhaps this was a turning point for you. It's great that you took steps to self-exclude and you mentioned wanting to get in touch with us on the helpline when you feel ready. We're here for you when you want to call, and it's fine to just call to say how you're feeling. Things can get better.

I wish you all the best.

Take care

Laura

Hi Zlime,

Be strong mate. Step 1 complete, you know you have a problem, for gods sake don't go thinking you can win it back! Not going to repeat the wise words already posted. I'm "stingy" too when it comes to spending money! Yet I could lose hundreds in one bet without concern. That's when you know you have a problem! Face up to it mate, be strong and get the help already suggested there's no time like now, if you don't you may regret it.

All the best.

Adam,

I would post a new page in the "NEWBIES" section and tell your full story. You will then get some great advice on what to do next.

All I will say at the moment is face up to your problems and come clean with your wife (unless she already knows), that's what I did and I'm happier for it and gamble free now for just over 50 days. Read my story/posts if you want to know more.

All the best, will look out for your story.
