i m going well ty, good luck to you too, wish you the best.
Hello ppl,
I just wanted to update you that i m going very well, i m not even playing small bets on roulette and i just working and having fun! i dont miss gambling at all lately...
A thread resurrection! I can't believe I found my old account and gonna update my situation almost 6 years later.
I can't say I ever really stopped gambling 100%, but I tried and succeeded up to a 90%. Let me explain.
I used to do sport arbitrage back in the day, and if you check my previous messages about "I cannot close my accounts or have a software in place" was the main reason, because I had a side good income, which stopped around 2014 with sports bookies being more aggressive towards arbers. So at that time I took my arb profit (it would be much more if I wasn't gambling at the same time) and left gambling for good. I closed all my accounts, ordered new debit cards with very low online buys limits, and just used a friends/gf card/ebay if I wanted to buy something online and followed everything I read in this forum.
Then why I say 90% and not 100%? Because I find myself playing 100-200 euro every now and then (max card limit) when a new bookie appears online before I close the account, which is bad, but well what can you do...
And I'm sure you are thinking that I m here because I gambled again, and you are correct, this weekend I gambled hard and felt the urge after 4 years, and this was not the case when I casually lose the 100 buck every 3-4 months a new bookie appeared online, or win 200-300, but this time I had this big win again, and started gambling with big money, even if it wasn't out of my pocket we all know that when you "win" you always think it's yours even before you withdraw and if you lose it you ll never say that I lost 200 eur, but you ll say I lost 4k and include the winnings as a loss out of your own pocket. It doesn't matter that I won, I placed a limit asap and paused my account because Cancel Withdrawal happened 3 times this weekend and it would happen again.
My main fear was that URGE, that thirst for more, and if you are a new gambler that lost 500 EUR and feel depressed, you are lucky believe me. it's a curse to win when you start gambling and I felt it again after so many years. My new strategy now is to cancel my card when the withdraw comes and issue a new card with 0 online limit, so I don't even play the casual 100 buck on new bookies.
What happened the (almost)gamble-free 4 years?
My life advanced in a very good direction, learning new things, being more focused on my job, having money and use them to learn or take a trip or buy something instead of just gambling on roulette or sports.
Something to add, on my recovery process a very important part of it, was my friends and gf, I was open to all of them and let them know I have this addiction, that even tho I wasn't in debt, it was risking my financial future and I told them that I ll need their help and they were there for me and I couldn't do it without them, so everyone who is thinking to hide it from their close ones, I would suggest the opposite.
Ask me anything you need.
