This has always been my fave film, I know it’s a Christmas one but I’ve watched it since giving up gambling and I had tears running down my face. Just the message seemed even more poingent, it makes you realise there is much more to life than what’s in your purse. I will look forward to watching it again at Christmas time, when I will hopefully be 6 months into my recovery by then.

Feel free to post any more feel good films that you think may help people 🙂

Morning leedsfan!

One flew over the cuckoos nest would apply to me! Hope your doing well and enjoying your gamble free weekend! Out of interest are you rugby or football? (Leedsfan)

Much love, Daniel

Leeds United, unfortunately rugby bores me rigid! Shame as Rhinos have had a lot more success over recent years than us!

If you love 'It's a Wonderful Life' then you'll love 'Casablanca'. And that favourite of favourites, the Shawshank Redemption is a must-watch too. Overcoming adversity is what this is all about - and we must seek inspiration wherever we can.

My mum has dementia she is 58, she loves 'Casablanca' and 'It's a wonderful Life' and watches them on repeat, makes her cry a lot but makes her smile a alot too. She also wears her xmas jumper all the time she always loved xmas, makes her happy and I think that's so important, the way things make us feel, might seem silly but if we are happy then it isn't silly at all 🙂 x Have yet to dind my favourite fil though.

Good way to look at it.. 6 months it will be into your recovery, that will be such a good feeling for you, aim for that and much higher x

Hi leedsfan,

I’ve tried a week without the internet, hasn’t gone well! Sorry for the late reply, I’m a white also, from South Wales believe it or not! Since 1990. Great news today wasn’t it, maybe playoffs next year? If carlsberg did it lol I usually go up a couple of times a year, there’s a supporters club down here, are you a tickers holder?

Hey, hope you’re well! I had a ST years ago now I get to about 3-4 games per season. However I’ve promised myself that now I’m not gambling I’m going to make sure I have money to go to our first game. Yes brilliant news this week, although still a little apprehensive as we’ve seen so many false “new dawns”. But fingers crossed he’s the right man to get us out of that league
