Started gambling a few months back and have gambled almost every day. Was able to build up my money, got lucky on quite a few occasions and always managed my money quite well.
This weekend however, I don't know what happened but I blew ВЈ1500. Saturday I was actually up about ВЈ250 lost that, threw ВЈ500 in to try save it, lost that, then threw in another £750.
This really isn't like me as I normally have a limit, but now I'm left with literally money whatsoever with no money for Christmas. Don't know how I will explain to my family why I can't give them money in their cards. Right now I'm still gambling as there's no other way of getting fast cash, feel like I'm on a downward spiral and will just keep losing.

The best thing that I did two days ago was download GamStop, it stops you accessing any online sites. I have found that this has helped me, even tho I am on day 3, I feel so much better, and trying to sort out my finances. I know it’s hard, but it will be one of the best things you would have done, as you will find you will just lose more and find yourself even more so in an issue. Hope this helps. Keep strong.

Your for sure on a downward spiral and trust me gambling only leads to misery. Ive been where you are now so many times trying to recover from loses but you have to let it go. That's why we are compulsive gamblers, we can't except losses like a normal gambler can.

My thoughts are with you mate

Gambling isn't the way to fast cash. It's the way to lose cash fast.

You've quickly recognised you have a problem with it and you're in the fortunate position of not having run up tens of thousands in debt but if you don't take action to stop now that will change. Read round the forum and act on the advice you see. Regard the money lost as the price of a life lesson. Stop now and it will be cheap.

Appreciate the kind comments folks. Being short on cash at Christmas is no fun at all. Will try my hardest to make sure I don't end up in a position like this again, all the best.

This is exactly what I needed to hear, thank you mate. Have read about the other stories on here and have realized how much worse it could've been. Blew savings (which can be earned back) but didn't land myself in any debt. Thank you for your comment, all the best.

Starting to get over it, locked myself in my room and didn't talk to anyone for a few days. Was speaking to my sister and told her and felt better for it. Said to my dad as well. Am starting to get over it but hurts to know I will most likely never have that much Disposable cash again just need to accept the fact its gone. Consider myself lucky I didn't continue chasing my loss and land myself in any form of debt. Thanks for asking mate, all the best and enjoy your Christmas.

The best thing you can ever do if you get the urge to gamble, is come on here first and read the posts for a few minutes, definitely reminds you of why not to do it. The mind is a powerful tool which almost sucks you into it...read this forum for 5 minutes whenever tempted and it will hopefully solve the urge. Stay strong.
