Hi all,
I'm just looking for a bit of advice regarding a situation I find myself in after several months not gambling. I stopped gambling back in September and haven't gambled since however prior to this, I placed a bet which runs for the duration of the football season and is now looking likely of winning and for myself it is a substantial amount of money. I do not know what to do if this wins as it doesn't feel right taking the money however on the flip side I am not in a great financial situation, therefore was thinking about making an additional payment towards the loans I currently pay? Is anyone else had any similar experience or offer your thoughts on the best way to go?

Hi Calum
Others may have a different view but if you have loans that need paying then I would withdraw the winnings, self exclude from the site as soon as the money hits your bank account and pay some of the loan off immediately.
I know it feels like tainted or dirty money but you probably would not have needed the loans if you had not gambled in the first place.
Just don't let it sit anywhere for too long where it could tempt you to gamble with even a small part of it as you know you will end up gambling the lot and probably more once you start. That is what we do.

Hi Calum,
No brainer as long as you don’t re-gamble it. It’s not cheating ... it’s a bet you put on before you quit gambling, and better paying off your debts, rather than giving bookies more profit. Get those loans paid down and think of the interest you’ll save as well.
