I phoned for counseling 10 days ago now and still I haven't had a call back. It's hard enough to take That step, and admit, you need help, but when those you Phone, don't even get back, you wonder what's the point and gamble till you're back to where you were when you made that call.

We're really sorry to hear that you're still struggling with gambling. 1:1 treatment doesn't have to be the only option. We can point you towards Gamblers Anonymous groups, give you practical steps you can put in place to help you stay away from gambling. We can also agree regular callbacks to check-in on how you're doing, and to help you work through your feelings about changing your gambling.

So today I phoned the number I was given 2 weeks ago and said to the lady who answered, that I called 2 weeks ago and I've still not had a call back. I was told that the councilor is in the city where I live and she'll contact me and give me a call today but still no one has called
Another day passes and still nothing

Hi, I understand your situation, I too have been waiting or a call back from a gamcare counsellor, they are clearly busy. But I really want to stop, I haven’t gambled because they haven’t rung me yet. I’ve used this forum, I’ve got myself private counselling (you could have put that £1000 towards private if you really wanted to stop). I’ve done whatever I can to stop myself gambling. It’s not easy, but I’m not making any excuses. You have to really ask yourself the question . Do you really want to stop gambling? A counsellor isn’t going to hold the key. You turning up to your first counselling session is not going to instantly stop you gambling unless you really want to do it yourself! Don’t make excuses and don’t blame anyone else. Do something about it!
Also, I see from your other posts, that you put GameStop in place around 3 months ago. Good move! But how have you been able to gamble in the last couple of weeks?
Affected by gambling?
