Recently I bought **** thinking I was in for a good bit of money.

The fact is I lost a small fortune because I failed to understand.

I lost almost £8,000. It's incredibly difficult to come to terms with and life has become so very brutal.

This is a word of warning for anyone who partakes or knows anyone who is thinking about stocks and shares.

I feel a bit better after posting this. I hope I can heal though it will be very difficult.

Dear @peacehill6,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. Please keep accessing support from our forum community and we also have a chat room that you may find helpful too. It opens at 1pm until 2pm and then again at 8pm until 9pm every day. There's also an extended chat room every Sunday evening which closes at the later time of 21:30pm.

I'm sorry to hear of your struggles and I'm concerned that life has become "so very brutal" for you.

We would always encourage you to open up to your support network if possible and perhaps an appointment with your GP would be beneficial if you've felt any detrimental changes to your health and/or mental health?

We're here for you, you're not alone in this. If you would like to talk to us further or discuss a free referral to a treatment partner for support sessions, please call our helpline on 0808 8020 133 or access our Netline (web chat) via our GamCare website.

Please take care.

Kindest Regards

Joanne

When in first lockdown and not able to go to bingo and slots (was still gambling then), I put £250 into a trading site as a bit of fun.  So then I was sweet talked into putting in another £2000 which he could turn into big money for me (so naive).  It was when oil was really low.  Trades on and there was a big expectation that oil would rise but it didn’t; it fell further.  Had to put another £1500 in just to keep the trades open.  Stopped after that and just let them close.  £3750 gone in days.  Oil did rise eventually to record highs.  I could have made thousands.  So angry at all the money I have wasted even since… on slots.  I agree that it is all so hard to come to terms with.  All blocks in place now and limited access to cash.
