REGAINING CONTROL

Hi, My Name Is Connor, I Am 20 Years Old And I Am A Problem Gambler. You May Say Its Good I Have Realised That I Have A Problem Before It Goes Into Worse Of A Problem. Its All Thanks To My Amazing Family That I Haven't Thanked Enough But Argued With That It's Not A Problem And That I'll Sort It. I Am Currently In About £1800 Worth Of Debt. Today I Have Realised That Enough Is Offically Enough, I Can't Gamble To Hope To Pay It Off. I Won't Win. I Better Not Take Out Any Loans Because It Will Make The Situation Worse.

What Have I Found Myself Doing:

I Have Self Excluded From Bookies But Still Found Myself Going To Ones I Haven't Excluded From.

Buying Scratchcards

Playing The Machines In The Pubs.

And To Be Honest. I Don't Like Arguing With My Family, Having To Sit In On Nights At The Weekend Because Its Rare I Get A Night At The Weekend Off Work And Seeing My Friends Going Out And Me Having To Sit In Because I Can't Afford To Go Out Because I Am In Debit Because Of Gambling.

This Has Made Me Think, All I Need Is A Bit Of Will Power, Not That I Should Limit My Gambling But Get Rid Of It Completely, I Should Limit Myself With How Much I Spend When I Go Out And Tell Myself If I Felt The Urge I Could Gamble This Money I Have For Tonight Or I Could Stay Out, Have Company And Enjoy My Night And Make Laughs And Memories.

I Am Setting Myself Little Goals Which I Want To Achieve Each Month. My First Goal Is To Clear My Debt In The Next 3 Months, Then It Will Be Saving, Getting My Own Bar Etc. I Am Going To Try And Update This Post Once A Month And Hopefully Help Others With My Own Experiences.
