HHi all,
So I have self excluded from all of the online casinos that I usually use. I am always worried that I will track down another casino that has newly opened so today I went onto the UK gambling commissions website and looked up the entire list of casinos that are listed. I have now systematically gone through every company listed and emailed them asking that I be excluded from their site (incase I have an account with them as I had loads open) and even ones that I do not have an account with I also emailed them my name and address etc. I have received numerous emails back now saying I have been excluded, or will not be able to open an account. As many of the sites that newly open are all operated by the same companies I am feeling confident that I have excluded pretty much from them all! It's a good idea to check this list if you think you may have missed some sites to exclude from. I start my counselling soon, and although I have so much debt I'm now ready to take control of my life back.
Hi
Thats great and my best advice is that you keep working on the exclusions. Make sure you are not accepted on their databases and its not just platitudes they are sending. You make sure that they know who you are and you dont want to gamble.
Then you can work through every scenario with some close support if you have it. You must never be complacent and you must discusss blocking software and even letting your bank block transactions...not knowing that security number on your card is another helpful tip
I was proud to self exclude and dare I say I began to enjoy the surge of pride it gave me. The renewals became easy and I have no urges now. I dont however position myself in pubs where I could be vunerable. As I said I am never complacent and that I feel is the key point
I first thought I would be embarrassed about self excluding but it seems like the most natural thing to me now.
Best wishes
Thank you, that's very helpful advice. It sounds like you have come such a long way, that's really great to hear. I have only just decided enough is enough so I still have a strong urge to gamble, but I'm popping on here when I feel an urge and reading success stories. I have counselling in place, and also a good support network around me. I have also changed my back account to basic two days ago. I wish you many more happy gamble free days, I hope I can say the same in the next few months 🙂
