Just wanted someone to talk to so I came here, I used 'gamstop' a few years ago and that seemed to work though I have found a few sites recently, I thought I'd check that my existing gamstop was OK but it looks like I have to register again, don't know why. I really MUST stop online gambling, after a couple of beers I just lose it ... anyone any advice please ? Thank you Roger
Hi Roger - Exclude for the minimum 5 years. It really does help.  The fact you 'found a few sites recently' indicates you are trying to gamble again, have you managed to abstain for the last few years?
I did same mate, I’ve froze my bank account and I’m excluded from every site now, I’ve lost my partner and think it’s to late to win her back so In a pretty low place at minute, do feel determined to sort this just hopefully my other half can give me a chance to show I have finally changedÂ
Hello  rogertb,
Sorry you're struggling. It looks like you were in a similar position a few years back as well. If you haven't already you'd be very welcome to contact us on the Helpline - you can call us on 0808 8020 133 or webchat. We're open 24 hours. There may be a lot more support out there for you as well as Gamstop. There's blocking software, and there's free treatment and support groups. Or you can just talk things over, whatever helps you most right now.Â
You might also want to consider starting a diary over in the Recovery Diaries section.Â

Thanks all, really good of you and the support is important, I think I've got the 'blocking' sorted again. I know some banks stop customers paying for on-line gambling but I'm with the Co-op and I don't think they do it, I'll give them a call, I'll also reduce my credit card limit to a few hundred (for emergencies) if I can, I've currently maxed out at £2K ... I guess it's a day at a time.
Affected by gambling?
