Hello! I started gambling the day I turned 18, thinking it wouldn't of escalated to where it is today. I've struggled for 6 years of gambling on FOBT's, started with £2 bets .. Then got worse & worse and worse till I was gambling online on roulette doing £1000 spins. 3 months ago the day before I went on a stag due, I lost over £6000 in 3 days, I felt like there was no way back, as this was my biggest lose ever. My parents have supported me all the way through my gambling been up's and downs and I just felt there has to be a time where it'll all just stop? Right .. Well I'm 2 & half months gamble free! For anybody struggling it's not an easy process, i tried counselling, many doctors appointment but what I found to work was just dealing with it by myself, if you want to stop, 90 percent of it is down to yourself! There is always light at the end of the tunnel! Just thanks for all the support on the forum and wishing you all the best 🙂

Thanks Jordan.

Great post Jordan. I'm a firm believer in doing it for yourself. Whilst there is no doubt that support of those around you, counselling etc does help ultimately it comes down to the individual and their willingness to stop. I still struggle and have had relapses but the sums involved are manageable when it happens. Understand how much more you get out of life without gambling (sleep, time , money, health etc) and this is where the addition can gradually be conquered.
