Day 3 - I have not and will not gamble!
Good evenig all, day 28 free from the evil. It does seem the urges are less frequent, but when they raise their ugly head I think of the greater picture and that puts them in their place.
Joke of the day.
I went to see my psychiatrist the other day as I kept waking my partner up in the middle of the night singing the 'Green Green Grass of Home'. He said: 'That sounds like Tom Jones syndrome'. 'Is it common?'I asked. 'It's not unusual' he replied.
Bal in for the day x
Checking in - 5 days gambling free (at 7:30pm).
Moorey
Just checking in. Still gambling free. To the few who have a relapsed... I know many have already said it... but thank you for your honesty and you haven't let the group down... You'd be letting the group down if you didn't come clean... I know the aim of this thread is to get the collective group to 100 days GF, but if that's only achieved by people feeling pressured into lying about their GF day count and allowing others to post false platitudes then nothing is achieved... WCAWW.
Everyone here deserves a better life... No matter how much debt you're in or how many personal relationships you've destroyed due to this addiction, nobody needs to have their future dictated to them by the spin of a wheel, the turn of a card, the results of a sports match, the winner of a race, the reels on a slot machine or some RNG... The past and present may unfortunately have been determined by such things, but the future doesn't need to be... You can regain control... -*Note to self lol
Good evening! Just to let everyone know; I'm out tonight. GF I hasten to add! Hence, the rollcall will be either later tonight, or first thing tomorrow. Keep GF everyone, and I'll be back, rest assured.
We CAN and We WILL. And, in fact, We ARE!
Have a good night Mixer. Day 39 clean for me. Night all xx
Enjoy your evening Mix, you deserve it!

So. We're coming up to the end of the first working week of 2016, Friday tomorrow! And 29 of us still resolutely gambling free. You should feel proud, and, I hope, feeling better. SC's post, a few above this one, was a joy to read; showing how our loved ones can read us so well and want us to be happy.
I would llike to ask those of us in our group who haven't checked in for a while to check iin with a quick post here, or update their dairies, because - and I'm sure you understand - I will 'rest' you from our group in consideration and respect of those of us still part of the challenge and the spirit of how we're doing it.
Sodawater, if his post above, has it dead right: no-one should feel pressured into feeling they have 'let the side down' if they have gambled. Part of controlling and managing this horrible addiciton is to regain a sense of self-pride and honesty. Therefore, if you have relapsed, tell us! Because we will help you back up and ready for another assault at the challenge. We are a team and will support you. Klamm, Start and Change had the courage to tell us they had slipped - and the honesty and respect they have showed to our group speaks volumes and you retain our full respect, chaps.
Thank you for checking in everyone and for your kind words - I had a great night out, thank you, with my brother 'up town' catching up over a few beers. Fully GF, I hasten to add! And I hope you had an enjoyable evening, too.
*** JOKE OF THE DAY ***
Years ago, the comedian Jasper Carrott used to regale funny car insurance quotes. Here are a few of them!
Q: Could either driver have done anything to avoid the accident? A: Travelled by bus?
The claimant had collided with a cow. The questions and answers on the claim form were - Q: What warning was given by you? A: Horn. Q: What warning was given by the other party? A: Moo.
"I started to turn and it was at this point I noticed a camel and an elephant tethered at the verge. This distraction caused me to lose concentration and hit a bollard."
"I was going at about 70 or 80 mph when my girlfriend on the pillion reached over and grabbed my testicles so I lost control."
"I knew the dog was possessive about the car but I would not have asked her to drive it if I had thought there was any risk."
Q: Do you engage in motorcycling, hunting or any other pastimes of a hazardous nature? A: "I Watch the Lottery Show and listen to Terry Wogan."
"First car stopped suddenly, second car hit first car and a haggis ran into the rear of second car."
"The car in front hit the pedestrian but he got up so I hit him again"
"I pulled away from the side of the road, glanced at my mother-in-law and headed over the embankment."
WCAWW!
Thursday 5th was Gamble Free.
Have a good Friday everyone.

Day 40 (been losing count of the days to be honest) still going strong..
However, yesterday was the first time since I stopped that I had money in my bank, scary because I thought I was coping amazingly but the first though I had was to put a bet on, I even tried a few websites, maybe to test myself even though I know full well I would have gone through with it if they wasn't all blocked.
Maybe I shouldn't be in control of money just yet after after all.

You've done so well by the sounds of it. I, too, struggle when I have spare cash. Whilst I am on day 6 GF my real test will be when payday comes this month. Keep going, you can do it 🙂
