Hey, new to the forum. Been a compulsive gambler for 9 years since age 20 and has wiped away my entire 20's which is meant to be the best time of your life.

I'm going to do everything possible to ensure yesterday will be my last ever time I gamble.

I'm going to come on this forum everyday but was wondering if anyone would be interested in a whatsapp group too? I kind of think this could be an even more powerful tool. Everyday or whenever you wanted... people could keep everyone motivated and ensure no one goes back to gambling.

It's nothing against the forum, I will still come on here too. But just feel this could be an even bigger help, anyone interested?

@george299 If you can attend a GA meeting you will find a lot of them have whatsapp groups for members outside of the weekly meetings. To be fair the only difference in one of them or getting on the forums or meetings on here is that people know each other rather than just being a username. The support offered should still be the same.

Why not start a diary on here and tell us a bit more about your gambling so that you can be offered the support you need?

All the best

Chris.

Thankyou. I will take a look at the chat room later on. I'm guessing not that many people will be in it.... but I may be surprised.

To be honest I'm going to give this my all without GA to begin with. I have a severe lack of confidence at the moment as my life has been so bad due to gambling for a long time. And I am absolutely awful speaking in groups. But to be honest, this is the first ever time I have been really serious about stopping gambling. I'm feeling positive about it this time.

My sincere thanks. The chat room will be checked out later on. My guess is that a relatively small number of people will attend, despite my expectations.
Besides coming on this forum daily.
