Cheers Graham, this inconsiderate buffoon won't be posting on here anymore, so the site will be a better place for you now.
Bornagain - please don't be defeated by a lone sniper - you are much too good for that, and a respected and valued member of this site, let alone our esteemed acting platoon leader over on the 2014 Challenge!
Graham C - a quiet word in your shell-like:
A quote from your post reads:
"but this person "****", who you speak so well of, couldn't even be bothered with a reply. Manners, respect and decency cost nothing...."
May I direct you to the thread you started under the 'New members' forum on 26 March? I rest my case.
Joanna
Hi,any tips on how to stop?im getting worse, hate myself!
well done btw x
No offence Joanna, I didn't reply to others, but it wasn't my place to (although I would have liked to, but didn't feel I could...
Graham (long sigh from me....) - Have you actually returned to your original post in the
'New members intros forum'? If you do, you will see that your plea for help and advice was responded to by two contributors, but ne'ery an acknowledgement from you. That's OK by me - it's hard sometimes to remember where we have posted and it's easy to forget to reply, but.... it just goes to show that it isn't always wise to criticise others when we have faults too. (Matthew - Chapter 7, verse 3).
Anyway let's draw a line under this conversation - we've hijacked Bornagain's Diary enough already.
Best wishes to you in your onward struggle.
Joanna
Dear Bornagain,
I just want to say that I wouldn't want anyone "fighting my corner" as it were - you are perfectly entitled to your opinion, and I respect what you have to say.
I don't want you to leave this Forum, and I would be disappointed if you did so. I hope that this is clear my friends - this is a sensitive subject and hence, it is going to lead to confrontation at times but I am completely fine with Bornagain and I have no wish for anyone to criticise either him or his recovery. In fact, the opposite is true - I am hugely pleased and proud of the progress he has made; it really doesn't matter who is right or wrong - we are all fighting the good fight, against a common enemy.

Joanna ...I didn't respond because I didn't have to and it wasn't my place (although I should have done out of courtesy) ... Best wishes to you too Joanna...I didn't want to drag anyone else into this...
Sorry JamesP, didn't see your other post. Appreciate what you are saying - you are an unbelievably kind, gracious and humble guy; you are a lession to us all, not just in giving up gambling, but in humility and dignity. I can't stand by and watch someone be disrespectful towards you though, not when you work so incredibly hard and help as many as you do. I knew you wouldn't like my tone, or what I was saying but sometimes things just have to be said. God bless you.
Graham - The fact is that as far as I can see Bornagain and James P have come to a peaceful understanding and that the matter is over, kaput, finished. It's like picking a scab over an old wound - leave it alone. If James P and Bornagain are happy, so be it.
Half-Life: "There are more things in heaven and earth Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy" - likewise the workings of this site; I have no idea how things get moved or why...
All the best,
Joanna
! I have seen this happen several times before Half-life - it seems to happen when two posts are made on the one topic, when they are not too far apart time-wise; it seems to right itself in a few minutes if you keep refreshing the page.
There are a few funny glitches on this site - I think it is because the same, fairly basic (no offence Gamcare...!) format hasn't changed since it started about eight years ago. I once got a very shirty reply from someone who accused me of being two different people; turns out that there was another "JamesP" many moons ago and the Forum allowed us to take the same username; we didn't even live in the same continent!
I can assure you that I am not "Graham" Half_life; besides us having very, very different views and standpoints, schizophrenia, as well as being a compulsive gambler, may be too much for me to handle! Hope you are doing well my friend.
Joanna, you are a very kind and considerate lady; your approach to this unfortunate situation has been superb, thank you.
JamesP
Well done mate, a very positive post in deed. I think at times we can all share the thoughts that you have had over the last few weeks. Sometimes it seems easier to just give in and go running to tne nearest bookies... I have been off for a similar amount of time to you and have realised that the financial issue regarding gambling seems the easiest to resolve. I am nkw rediscovering myself again, which trust me it is not easy... Trying to fill that time gap is harder than it seems sometimes.
I think that by taking the lead of the 2014 challenge for a couple of weeks is just what you needed. Take pride in the time you have already put into it and it will give back to you too.
Keep it up! 🙂
Scambling
Day 163 and having had a really stressful and low week which wasn't helped on here I decided I wasn't going to post anymore. But do you know what I'm not going anywhere!
I'm not giving in I've gone 163 days without a bet. Phil is back and Graham you won't get to me again.
No bets for me today!
... I don't want you to stop posting, I don't want you to go anywhere, I wished you well and I still feel the same way, but, as I said, you didn't handle it very well...
Graham you've made your point very clearly and it's getting boring now. You have a bizarre obsession with James P as you mention him in nearly every post on this site.
The post that offended you was over 2 months ago and everybody has forgotten about it now.
Affected by gambling?
