All good preparing myself for a great gamble free weekend.
Do I really want to participate in an activity that I know is a con, NO WAY, those bar stewards have had all the money they are going to get from me.
Take care.
Shaun
:o)
I have the book now. Just scared to open it and start reading for some reason... Strange.
Hi signalman
Go for it you have nothing to lose I promises you, my only regret was I didn’t purchase it earlier.
Five weeks gamble free, feel great and so much more in control.
Weekend safely negotiated, day 36 today, so the last day when the number of gamble free days resemble a number on the roulette wheel.
Must say don’t know what tomorrow will bring but finding not gambling OK at present, quite easy using Allen Carr’s EASYWAY method. One of the main reasons is that I am not giving up anything but quite the opposite, I am liberating myself.
Take care.
Shaun
Hi. I’m new to the forum. Going to purchase the book now. Thanks for your post. Karen.
Hi endofthegames
My advice is it’s the best few quid you will spend, period.
Purchase, read, digest and everything else will fall into place. Remember, staying away from gambling won’t be a problem as you are not giving anything up and all gambling is that it’s a clever con trick.
After reading it, your username will be very appropriate.
Good luck.
Shaun
This is a fantastic first post and certainly food for thought , triggered my brain to work differently instantly.
Hi guys
It’s all about mindset, in the past I have said enough is enough after a big loss and then after a few days decided to have ‘a cheeky tenner’ in the roulette machine - and then the lose, lose, lose, win, lose, lose cycle begins again.
For me, my mindset has changed as I now know that gambling provides no pleasure and it’s just a very good elaborate con trick. Keeping this in mind, I know that I am not giving anything up but freeing myself, thus taking the willpower scenario out of the equation.
After all, if something is giving you so much anguish in your life, why miss it, we should do the opposite and celebrate instead.
What gives me the greatest pleasure now is walking past bookies and laughing and thinking to myself, ‘Ha, Ha, you are not going to keep surviving with my hard earned money’.
Good luck guys, defeat gambling by not participating.
Shaun
Hi Shaun,
I have nearly finished the book and wanted to thank you for pointing me in that direction , complete change of mindset and a huge help , thanks again.
Day 40 today.
All is well and no thoughts on gambling whatsoever now I have seen it for what it is - a clever con trick to play on people’s addiction.
Just a thought, if you take a step back and think when we USED to gamble, we were quite selfish and horrible people. Lying, stealing, borrowing, begging from our loved ones, not forgetting how much time we spent away from them just to make someone rich. That someone who we will never meet and lives in a big house, drives a nice car and sends his/her children to private schools and all the time educating their children on the dangers of gambling - how ironic.
All the best.

Wow never really thought of it like that before.
My only similar thought has been of a bookmakers office Christmas party (booze, lavish food, entertainment) funded with pounds and pence from the pockets of those who fell prey to addiction and can just about afford to buy Christmas crackers for their table now.
But I guess (sadly) in many ways that's how the world turns these days :o(
Still, good to remind oneself of these things.
Oh yes signalman, just all one ellobrate con.
For instance, in a casino all the windows are blacked out so you can’t see how dark it is outside and there is never a clock.

Hi guys
I am on day 26 gamble free and thought I would start a new diary.
Whilst the forum was down it gave me the opportunity to do some research, in the past I have read books on stopping gambling and they were good. A couple of weeks ago I purchased the Allen Carr Easy Way to stop gambling and its transformational for me, definitely a game changer.
Gone are the urges and reasoning in my mind to have a ‘cheeky tenner’ in the roulette machine, below I will list the things which are helping me and hopefully people reading them will think in a different way about gambling.
1. Gambling gives me no pleasure, in fact the opposite, how can it be fun running from cash point to cash point in the vain hope of hitting a number with £13 on it - just to get SOME of my money back.
2. The gambling industry is playing on my addiction, glossy posters in the window and adverts on the TV showing people laughing and winning, when all they want is my money. If you like a clever way of conning me.
3. I don’t need gambling, gambling needs me in order to survive, I will survive without gambling.
4. There is no temporary fix, if I need money to pay a bill all that gambling will do is get me in more financial strife.
5. I have made a decision never to gamble again and will NEVER QUESTION IT.
6. The urge that I may get will be a little gambling monster inside me who needs gambling to live, every time I resist I will be slowly killing him, HA, HA.
7. THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE. I don’t need willpower to give up gambling as I am not giving anything up, I am liberating myself from gambling which has been like a ball and chain around my ankle. So, why would I be sad or need will power, it’s like having a splinter in my finger, when I take it out I am not sad but happy.
Good luck guys but my whole perspective on gambling has changed, it doesn’t even bother me anymore, when I see the posters in the bookies I just laugh and say ‘you are not conning me’ because that is what gambling is A CLEVER CON TRICK.
Shaun
Thanks for the post a very different way of thinking and positive rather than negative I will get the book and start the actions! As those cheeky “tenner” ended as £1k many a time!
Hi guys
6 weeks today, doesn’t time fly.
Absolutely no plans to gamble whatsoever, nobody makes a mug out of me. Still angry that I allowed myself to be conned, no gambling organisation is going to get one over me ever again. I am going to play my part in destroying the gambling industry by never participating again.
Shaun
Another weekend where we all negotiated gamble free, give yourselves a round of applause everyone, well done.
