Duncs,
The £300 pint of milk lol now that was a familiar story. And the lamb, well that just sounds delicious 🙂 Hopefully you'll get the young'un to see the light mate. He hasn't got the faintest idea of the power of Duncs. You are the man. A true inspiration to me.

Hey Duncs
Big cleans are always good for the soul.....I'm currently working on my pals house ..lol....no doubt the engine room will be in shipshape when youre done...no need for a h and s inspection...lol
A brief stint in the kitchens was an eye opener and our very own "chemical Charlie" who used to be the industrial cleaning products man...brought me back there ...loved those glass washers as me specs always got steamed up ..lol
My work like yours is always planning ahead...got the spec for the summer campaign...lol...
Hoping Hovis is on the mend..no less of a man and now able to play with the ladies with no fear of little Hovis
Buns...
Onwards...

Hi there
do you remember the little miniature hovis loaves that were the same size as a bread roll or am I going back waaaaay to far for anyone on here? We used to slice them like a big loaf and have a dolly tea party.
Hope big hovis is fully recovered, he surely is with all the care he has had from his dad.

DMac,
Thanks for your post. Yes, it feels great to be back. I don't know why but something just clicked last Thursday and here I am as optimistic as ever.
Really amazing to know you have went over a year without gambling. Gives us all encouragement that this can be done with the right attitude and hard work.
Tomso.

Rach your so right about the cleaning being good for the soul. Today i ripped it up!! Thanks to the help of some amazing chemicals lol.
So walked from work feeling great.everything is shiny well all apart from the yorkie trays and they never get washed!!
Sit down with the boss tomorrow, looking forward to that.
No bet today no time for it.
Duncs stepping forward never back.
Good morning Mr Mac,
I enjoy cleaning (sounds quite sadistic I know ) but i love seeing the results once its done .
I got a great deal yesterday on my on line shopping they brought me an alternative to what i had ordered but they have to charge you the same price as the item that wasnt avaiable, i got 2 legs of lamb that should of been 12 quid for 4... A small victory over the big supermakets lol.. So tonight i will be eating lamb with a big smile on my face.
Hope the sit down goes well today with the boss when i gambled i used to dred those because I knew there was always something that i could of done better but didnt because gambling had distracted me.
Take care
Blondie
Hey Duncs
Just wanted to express my deep gratitude for all the great comments you've posted on my thread. They have helped me to over 100 days gamble free and I am in an entirely different place to where I was back on November 16th when I finally took the decision to change my life. Your support has been amazing all the way through. Your honesty has enlightened and inspired me and I have learnt much from you about why life is better without gambling in it.
I find I only get time to log in every 2-3 days now but that is mainly due to the huge increase in my daily activities and commitment to work and not from a lack of interest in this site which has quite simply saved my life. I have plunged myself in to so many things now that I have rid the gambling demons from my life. Thank you for being one of the people who saved me. I am eternally grateful.

Evening diary.
Well my day started with a bang lol. After fasting for another round of blood tests i got lanced by an Olympic javelin throw lol!!! I arrived at the docs to be told the nurse was sick so i guess they got an athlete who needed some practice in as a replacement!! My arm is black!! Lol.
Still lets all hope i actually get something to ease the pain in my knees, the reason too many months ago i went in the first place.
Then off to work were i had my meeting with the boss.a day late as yesterday he had to rush off to another of his businesses to sort a problem.
So today we had an uninterrupted hour were he told me he did not have much to say, only one point to make, that was in his words a criticism that i do too much!!
I have to learn that i have other staff members to prep, clean and i should manage them. In saying that he said through my relentless effort he has learnt alot. To end he gave me my contract of employment a 12% payrise and finished by shaking my hand and stating that he hopes i am still working there in ten years time.
So me i am well pleased, i will check my contract thoroughly before signing it and feel today that my life has turned full circle .harmony presides right now i have struck a balance with home and work and i feel as though i hold the reigns. A truly great feeling.
Off tomorrow, got to take hovis to have his stitches out and will hopefully get to bathe him as he is stinking lol.
Then off to stock up the cupboards with food and a few treats a reward for our efforts.
My family i hope will get to continue to enjoy the benefits of my streak. Something today i continued.
No bet today, the odds on offer ridiculous!!! Me i won't be staking what i have. No chance, i don't need it.
So in tribute to my dearly departed friend Ade, today my friend that jar has less room for sand in than ever before in my life.
Duncs stepping forward never back.
Hey Duncs....sure they haven't got you confused with a pin cushion..? Either that or they are practicing voodoo on your arm...sheeeesh....and owwww.
Must be out of the same mold you and I ....also got my probation completed and told I have to learn to delegate..lol....absolutely made up for you and well deserved Sir Duncs...I know that extra percentage this month will be shared amongst your family ...
Remembering back to those earlier posts and a few job changes in a short space of time...all of us knowing that it was all for a reason and that was that somethig better was on the horizon for you...and that has come to pass with all your hard work.,
My day also a turning point so raising a chipped cup to you as all my stuff still in the storage unit..lol

Ps...early days but may be inheriting an ex Irish racing greyhound called Penny...I have said as a last resort if my pal has to give her up due to her divorce that I shall take her rather than she go back to the greyhound rescue..
Morning Dunc
Thanks for your post.
Well done on your payrise, it will fit in nicely with the 100% daily payrise we now get eh?
Best wishes,
gazza
Afternoon diary.
well great to read that tomso and andy are both back in the gamble free saddle and our esteemed friend Rach and her wonderdog or after recent events dagg are back home.
Yesterday I did not not write about my journey home from work but as I had the docs in the morning I had got a taxi in to work, and armed with the money for one home I walked. A walk that was great for my soul, as you know i work five miles outside pompey in the sticks, no shops, bookies anything but me and fields and more fields to pass, I found a footpath almost as the crow flies toward home,a path which led me to see, green woodpeckers, a buzzard, a fox ans countless pheasant(best not tell the boss he will have menu ideas) and when I got to the top of the hill sarah met me with the dogs.
This is something I think sums up my recovery, I walked, it took roughly 40 minutes, so more like a march, and I had nothing to rush for, no aniexety of any sort, I could just enjoy the scenery.
This is something that recovery will deliver, a choice, a choice to love life, something today I take open handed.
To one and all thankyou for you support and keep writing on your own threads, believe me it helps.
Duncs stepping forward never back.
Hey Duncs...
Thank you for the shout out and also it's a great feeling to journey on and actually smell the flowers...I did that too yesterday as normally it's head down 100 mph scowling. ...
Recovery gives you back your life xx

Hi there
thanks muchly for support but I am very envious, I only get the spotty type woodpecker in my garden.
Amazing how so many beatiful things in life are free as the song goes, if we are only awake enough to see them. Colour returning to my life by the day as addiction blindfold is removed.
