Hi All
I find myself back here again after my gambling sprialled out of control.
I previously stopped in 2013 and went just over 100 days without gambling.
Once I did gamble I have been gambling on and off since......
I am the type of person who finds it hard not to gamble, but not impossible. My problem is I am like a pringle once I pop I just cant stop!! Very much a chaser, then want to win EVERYTHING back, when I know I cant!
My plan is that I will send monies to my partner and have this transferred back from her as and when required.
I will post here daily, this really helped me last time. Though this I will gain inspiration from others on here.
Going for this again from today.
Hi I WILL WIN
Welcome back to the recovery diaries,
Best wishes

Hi I will win and welcome
Glad that you found the strength to come back. My gambling habits are similar to yours, I don't always have a burning desire to gamble, but when I think I'm in control of it, I start and then can't stop.
I've recently installing gambling blocking software on to my laptop and this is really helping when I get urges as i physically can't get on the gambling sites, not even to check odds on the footy.
I set my goal for 100 days once and when I achieved it I felt I was again in control of it and relapsed . Maybe this time think about a whole lifestyle change to irraticate gambling as opposed to fixing on a single term such as 100 days.
Keep posting mate, lots of good people and good advice on here
James
Be kind to yourself . Good luck in your recovery . You can do it
What is the best most cost effective blocking programme for the lap top??
Struggling on day 1 here!
I remember last time, it was hard the first few days and it gets easier.
Its like the longer you go and as the days mount up, you have more to lose!
You have to break that cycle, the habit I will win.
Your not missing anything pleasurable, gambling brought you debt (I assume),misery, false hope, took away your spare time, anger, frustration and any other negative emotion that exists!
Your never going to win, even when you did strike lucky it only pre -longed the enivatable agony of losing.
Plan your time ahead,do anything to avoid boredom.
You know the days soon mount up,take it an hour /day at a time
and like Stephen said be kind to yourself.
All the best trigger
Cheers Trigger
Its just the urges to do gambling like activities, I know I cant lose anymore money!
Still being strong
Welcome back to recovery, I WILL WIN...I think the free one is K9 (that seems to pop up all over) but Gamcare should be able to point you in the right direction!
You have to let go of the illusion you can control your gambling...It was a bitter pill for me to swallow but I had to eventually accept, if I could have controlled it, I wouldn't have ended up here!
Great idea handing over your finances & yes, as you know, it does get easier - equally, I don't think the urges ever truely go away!
Keep staying strong - ODAAT
Day 2 SATURDAY!!!!
Saturdays are always tough as they is so much sport going on and I love sport but at the moment relate everything to odds!!
Got K9 on computer bit I know the password, at the moment resisting temptation until I get a friend to change this!
Hope your all well!
Now onto day 4
Things are going well so far, the thoughts become less every day!
Just trying to get finances together again, money has money meaning again now........
Hope everyone is doing well!
