Claire,

I have just read your post in the challenge,.about justifying your gambling money because you did not go out, cinema, meals etc,

I thought exactly the same, and as my gambling stakes got higher and higher, I was justifying to myself, well we have not spent 2000 on a holiday abroad,,etc,, God knows where it would have ended if I had not started my recovery in here,,so many holidays, I wasted with OH and family, you can push through this bad time.

Hi Suzanne.

Appreciate your kind words and positive thoughts. I will stay safe today as no option to go anywhere to gamble as I've got the kids with me and can't gamble online. For today I'm definitely safe. Will hopefully regain my determination and positivity soon. Just a low few days I've had.

I'm same - neglected to spend money on the kids and family holidays. I must keep remembering this.

The gambling won't stay at a manageable level, even if I can manage it for some time. Inevitably it will go out of control again. I've proved that in the past.

I will beat these urges !

Hi ,

Yes for about 15 seconds the temptation was pounding through and my addiction was jumping for joy, it's strange how you can in just one second be transported right back to that horrible gambling frame of mind, just goes to show how powerful it is whether we are on day 1 or 1000 we are all vulnerable to the thing, new name THE THING lol.

Pleased to read you are staying safe today, you are a strong lady, and I have every faith you will come through, feeling even stronger and more determined, we can all do this, one day at a time

Stay close to recovery and stay safe Hun.

Suzanne xxxxxx

Thank you all for your kind words and much needed support.

Im taking on board every comment and reading words of encouragement is really helpful.

It helps being aware of my trigger and looking forward to a week off with money I can do things with the kids. I can get through this week and the stress will ease I must remember this.

Thanks again people for your support xx

Thanks NT 45 days today I will get to my half century this week. That's got to be worth celebrating. Going out Friday night - cinema n meal. Let's remember that when I gambled I couldn't really afford to do these things ( without getting more in debt) .

Feeling bit more positive today. Only 1 week at work then I've got a week off. Some nice days out planned with the kids. Need to forget the urges and concentrate on all the good things in my life. Forecast sun all day today. Got to work from home but if I get organised I could be done by 1pm and then enjoy the afternoon maybe out to the park for an ice cream n feed the ducks.

Woop day 51 !

Been preoccupied with work stuff this week so no urges to gamble over the past few days. Feeling strong again but got a week off work now and in the past that's meant more free time to gamble online. But the blocks are in place. I am positive I can do this and stay stopped all year 🙂

Hi Claire, good to see you're still side by side of me staying gamble free (we're both on virtually the same days)
