Hi Claire

Just wanted to say well done for not giving up on what you are trying to achieve. I have just returned here, after abstaining for just over two and a half years! Having a lapse(s) does not feel great I know but doing nothing about them, can make things 100 times worse! Stay positive and remain focused and you will reach your goal.

Take care.

Our Lady.

Thanks Our Lady for your support. Day five today and still feeling strong in this battle. Early days and felt a few urges but as I have made a commitment to stick to this now in memory of a close relative, I know I cannot go back to gambling. I've committed to a full year gamble free and I really want to do it. Sick of getting further into debt every time I go back to gambling for a while. Sick of the circle and returning to it and undoing my good work slowly climbing out of debts. Each relapse is a financial set back. Worked out I can be out of debt in about 30 months - really don't want to lose sight of this long term goal as then the consequences of gambling will finally be behind me.

Well - day 7 - week one done and only 51 weeks to go - wasn't so bad. I've felt a lot less stressed and early days but still feeling determined to do this. I know I must stay strong this time. I've proved I've the strength to do this previously, just not to abstain for a long period of time - complacency always creeps in. Need to stay strong this time around.

Hey Claire ☺

Thanks for your post!

Well done on your journey and please keep staying strong! You're doing great however one soldier in a field is not a soldier! Help and support is out there...take it! It's for free...it gives you more understanding and the feeling of belonging. Keep sharing, keep fighting.

One day at a time

Hugs

S x

Thanks Mel I'm now 15 days gamble free. Got to stick to it this time, too many failed attempts and a light at the end of the debt tunnel is keeping me going !

Hey boxingdayfresh.

Just wanted to say very well done in passing the two week mark.

Stay strong and remain focused. Feeling less stressed is a great feeling isn't it?

Take care.
