Thanks Suzanne.
It wasn't intended to be a long post but having read last years post from Kyle it made me think more about things. Hopefully relating to it can help other people relate to it too.
Thank you - 24 days isn't long in the big scheme of things but it's a big achievement for me and also has given me back my mojo !
Keeping strong in numbers helps too !

Hi Clare 24 days is a bloody long time if you're stranded on a Desert Island so it really depends on what scheme of things you are looking @ 😉
Thank-you for dropping by & your continued support! I am very glad to hear how positive you are now! Keep up the good work - ODAAT
Yeah that's true ODAAT I guess it does depend how you look at it and it's the longest I've been gamble free in years. Glad you're still doing well too. Yeah trying to keep positive. Booking things in my diary ... Got a wedding invite and at least five or six birthday celebrations coming up in the next few months. Keeping busy and looking at all the things I'm glad to spend my cash on helps me a lot.
Tonight I have been for a meal at the pub. I would have definitely opted for bingo (and slots) if it weren't for this forum and the dedication to abstaining and being grateful for all the support I get from people on here.
Ooh a money spider has literally just crawled on a long web all the way from the ceiling. Must be here to say hi and well done for not wasting money!! I'm now enjoying living and spending money on worthwhile things.
This spider is now sat still on the arm of my chair .. Just looking at me ! Strange. Wonder why he isn't crawling away from me ! Must be a sign !!!!!!!!
Never mind wondering why he isn't crawling away...he's wondering (as indeed am I) why you're not flailing your arms about & running around screaming!!! That poor Spider, how's he ever gonna hold his head up when he gets back to the fold now 😉
Lol - he was only tiny! Probably just resting his little legs after the crawl down from the ceiling hehe. My mum always says it means you're going to get some money from somewhere if you get a money spider come to you!
Dont mind little spiders. I just let him be ! It's the big hairy ones I'm scared of !
Lol..sorry to interrupt, but if it was one huge hairy tarantula and your mum said it brings luck/money? Lol..I'm already on a sofa screaming out of the top of my voice 🙂
(Not a fan of spiders..big or small, even keep some conkers in my car..now that says it all lol)
Anyway, back to recovery..happy hour to that massive 25 days free of gambling. Keep it up and be proud!! 🙂 you are doing this
Sandra xx
Ha ha Sandra! Thankfully no spiders to be seen this morning.
Thanks for dropping by and showing your support ! 25 days - not long to the next milestone now - 1 month :))

Hi Clare
Glad to read your still on-track. Great post on the challenge thread.
Days are building up now!
Hi Clare,
Thanks for checking in on me 🙂 pleased to see your doing so so well. Can you believe we are almost at the 1 month mark!? my longest ever spell from abstaining was 1 week! the days are clocking up.
Mel xx - forever 4 days behind you 🙂

27 days ! I've got a new laptop as mine is broken. This one is a work laptop though. Not got gambling software blocks on it as I can't install program's without administrator password. But I don't really think I'd ever use a work laptop for gambling anyway. That's deterrent enough ! Wonder which date is 1 month gambling free ? Maybe 26 th January as I stopped on Boxing Day.
Hi Clare, I had the same dilemma with regards to what constitutes a month but who cares, 4 weeks is 4 weeks - How fantastic is that 🙂
I have faith in you that you will not risk your job by using that laptop for evil reasons now that you know how wonderful recovery is! So, keep doing what you're doing - ODAAT
Thanks ODAAT - yeah I guess four weeks is a month give or take. I am never going to use that work laptop for any such gambling.. Wouldn't want to risk being questioned about it at work plus like you say I'm now experiencing how great recovery can be. Thinking of buying myself a new tablet next week though. My laptop broke but selling it for spares or repair. I'll be sure to get k9 installed on the tablet though just to be on the safe side!
Day 29 - realised I'm spending too much money on other things now I've stopped gambling ! Selling couple of things on eBay and taking my new health grill back or I'll be just as skint as I always was through gambling !!
Affected by gambling?
