So today I have come back to the forum, around two years ago I went 100+ days without gambling but since then have spiralled out of control again.

If there is any advice anyone can give me it would be much appreciated, and please see my previous posts to see what my story is.

So here's a quick summary of how I am now. Been gambling 13/14 year's, I am 29 and have totally destroyed my confidence, character and developed huge anxiety. Got that big win around 9 years ago, lost it and chased it ever since, subconsciously.

I'm not me anymore. My Mum and my fiancee are fed up with me I'm surprised they're still around. I don't have any close friends and gambling consumes my life. I hate it!

So here's to day 1!

No close friends... sounds like me.

What do you get from gambling? Try to understand why it is you gamble. When you are gambling, what are you feeling, thinking, (or maybe more importantly, what is gambling distracting you from?).

The root of gambling addiction might be different for every person. For me, it is to feel alive, to replace the emptiness of my life. I enjoy the buzz, going to the casino, it's all exciting.

There isn't anything in life that gives you that rush, unless you go on a roller coaster, or take drugs.

I had the same problem very recently. couldn’t seem to come to terms with the hard-earned money I’d wasted and lost. Felt like there was no option apart from getting it back... I got some of it back but of course couldn’t stop myself and lost it again + more. It’s a horrible feeling I know too well. All the best to you, there’s more to life than this.

That's the problem I don't know what I get from gambling. Sure its great when my numbers come in on the roulette or when Ive got money to spend on the family, but when I have no money life is easier because there's no choice to make.

Day 4 gamble free and the start of Cheltenham. Before I became gamble free I didn't really gamble on horses but had a dabble on the big meetings. Today in work everyone was speaking to me about it, so tough but thankfully i have no money and even when I do get paid Friday my partner now has my cards.

I really need to get these thoughts that I have in my head even subconsciously about money and that my wages are actually enough for me to live on aslong I don't gamble!!

Just for 1 day..
