Yet another relapse today after maxing out my new credit card , I don’t even have enough at this point to make all the minimum payments , I’m around 2 months away from being homeless . this is my last chance to stop this evil deadly devastating addiction . I’ll be writing my feelings on here every day .

Hi there.  I think I may have asked you this before but have you put all possible blocks in place to prevent you from giving one more penny to these gambling establishments and hopefully for you not to become homeless?🙏. It’s the only way for people like us on here. Especially in the early days.  It would be so beneficial if you have.

Day 2 , been writing out the 20 questions of gamblers anonymous , I feel so ashamed and disgusted wish myself for ruining my live and those around me , my partner wanted to go to the dentist and I said no we can’t afford it and instead I gambled thousands , I ordered 5 news credit cards and maxed them all out on gambling I didn’t contribute anything to the family , I know I’m a piece of s**t addict and the world would be better off without me .

Hi Peter,

I am concerned to hear that you feel the world would be better off without you. If you are having any thoughts around self-harm or suicide I strongly urge you to contact your local doctor or mental health services. If you are in the UK you can contact the Samaritans anytime on 116 123 it would be worth researching what the equivalent service would be in your country and putting their number into your phone. You are so much more than just what you can offer financially.

In the UK rather than self-excluding individually from land-based casinos people can sign up to a scheme called SENSE, perhaps there is an equivalent in your country? For online casinos if self-exclusion is not being effective you may wish to try installing a software blocker.

With regards to reducing the likelihood of your access to funds to be able to continue to gamble please do look into any banking blocks available even a temporary ‘freeze’ could slow down your situation to give time and space to get some more support for your underlying urge to gamble. If you do have someone you can trust to take care of your wage and/or household finances for a while (with both of your consent) it may give you time to contact a debt charity in your country for some specific advice on next steps.

Best Wishes

Louise
