Great work blue in the red, generally but especially @ the footy 🙂
May not seem like much fun, rearranging a bedroom, but it is stuff like this that she will remember when she is all grown up!
Keep up the good work & I hope you make a full recovery soon
- ODAAT
Morning everyone, well here it is,the last day of the last year that we ever gambled,I hope you all take a minute tonight whilst all around you are celebrating, and give yourselves a massive pat on the back, whether you are on day 1 or have completed a whole year, you have taken steps to get your life back, wishing you all a healthy and happy New year!xxx
Happy 2015 blue in the red 🙂 2014 all done & bad decisions/choices out with it, taking my pat on the back you gave me, right along with me this year to keep me strong - ODAAT
Good morning to everyone, not been on for a few days as been mega busy,it's all going ok at the moment,I'm thoroughly skint, but so are most people right now I suppose,I've had a few small urges this week but nothing too bad, almost made it to 3 weeks so well pleased with that, hope everybody is doing ok,keep up the good work!
Hi blue,
Well done on 3 weeks.
Suzanne xx
Great work blue in the red & thanks for dropping by 🙂
@ least next year when I do the accounts (much closer to April than this of course) I will have less than a year's damage to witness! I've seen it before & thought 'yuk, that's bad, must try & win some back'...Really?!? How could I have been so daft? Now I am winning - ODAAT
Morning to all,3 weeks and a day,it's been a good few days for me,no real urges,I'm trying to keep myself busy and its definitely helping,I've even joined the gym, mainly for some quality time with my eldest daughter,I'm loving the fact that instead of feeding machines,I'm giving my time to the family, they are all blissfully unaware of my addiction and for now I want it to stay that way,I'm hoping that one day when I'm happy that I'm over my weaknesses,I'll be able to tell them about my past life as a gambler,I'll leave out the huge losses obviously! Good luck everyone, keep at it!
You have come such a long way from early days when needing a 'poo' cheered us all up 🙂
I'm incredibly happy for your family, I know they were never suffering financially but time is the most important thing to have together once the bills are paid!
Whatever your reason for joining, don't let the gym be a New Year's resolution! I have been there too many times, not to the gym itself obviously, just paying out for one 😉
Keep it up- ODAAT
P.s: Great work on the caffeine - It always amuses me to see the health warning on some of the withdrawal sites 'Don't worry, you're not actually dying!' coz @ times, I was extremely concerned that I was v poorly.
Good morning everyone, hope you are all doing great and back in the swing of normality after Christmas,I always found this was a particularly bad time for me in regards to gambling, probably due to post Christmas blues, however, not this year! The gym is going well and I've had no adverse reaction to my slipped disc,so that's a result. It's amazing how you can find new ways of achieving that HIGH you used to get from gambling.Over Christmas me and my girls set up some bird feeding stations in the garden.we had a few sparrows come along, then a few bluetits, gradually more and more came, and now we have all sorts including goldfinches and nuthatch,my girls love it and it's great to see them Sat watching instead of constantly on the Xbox or iPad! Anyway, hope all are keeping up the good work, well done to all!
Hey there blue in the red, thanks for dropping by...It's such a lovely feeling that we are able to laugh @ what we were! I am still reeling from the realisation that I allowed myself to be like that for so long but I am so incredibly grateful for making it out the other side which I really feel I am now! I know I'm not cured & will always have to be on my guard but I'm not prepared to go back! You're not wrong about all being different but alike (you & I esp more so with the Caffeine & the backs) so we are hope for the future generation who come here wondering if they can beat this! I'm glad your disc is holding up (I had 2 a few years ago & have also been fortunate enough to recover) but I'm more glad that you have time to enjoy your family...It's a lovely read 🙂
Love watching your counter going up, keep safe, keep strong - ODAAT
Hi blue in the red,
Thanks for your message. X
What a lovely positive post, you have written on our diary, well done, you are getting near to 4 weeks now and I can see you are reaping the benefits from not gambling.
Positivity is one of the main ingredients in my experience to help kick thst horrendous addiction into oblivion, and you certainly have that today.
Stay positive and strong and keep gifting yourself by abstaining and maintaining.
Best wishes
Suzanne xx
Hi blue, thx for you post on my diary.Like you ve said it feels great to be gamble free for a decent chunk of time, spending time with family instead of gambling. or thinking of gambling, or feeling s**t from a big loss.
