Great attitude kid.
I think you can beat this once and for all.
You have had 3 long periods without gambling only to slip, nevertheless each period is getting longer, eventually you will think i am not wasting all this time i am definatley not gambling again and you will lose interest in any sort of gambling Keep up the good work Jeff.
HI Paul,

Hi,
Thanks theassiam, still here, still ticking along and gamble free which is the main thing.
I was starting to sound like a broken record moaning at myself and complaining about debts and the slow repayment so decided to take a break from posting.
I have been checking in on Flaggs crimble and new year thread tho, just want to get my head down and rack up the days, haven't had a gamble free festive period in 18 years, just want to sit down with a silly hat and sup that gravy with a contented smile.
Stay safe and sound
Paulds

Day 1 Choosing not to gamble
x@!@+$#
Target 50 days - until Jan 1 2013
Still not strong enough after my slip but a little stronger.
Day one and still felt like trying to win back what I lost, idiot! Came on here instead, informed Flaggs 2013 thread and post here as well.
Mid January is where I stared the diary so almost coming up to a year, some good progress with long bouts of non-gambling activitiy, I have shown I can knock up 100+ days. BUT all that counts are those slips, going to take months now to pay of the debt, it is daft really as non-gambling periods are spent worrying about the debt bein paid off slowly but that is SOOO much better than getting into more debt as i have just done. Come on brain function!!!
50 days can be done but it starts not just on day one but on hour one an minute one, that is all that counts...
each and everyone of us has a unique journey and every day is a challenge passed and part of our gamble free lives to be enjoyed, good luck everyone.
Paulds
HI Paulds,
Was just reading on flaggs thread about your slight slip and just wanted to pop by and offer you some virtual support.
You still have the 50 days to aim for and im sure your not going to give up until you have cracked this, and *** this you will my friend. Remember its not a mistake if we learn from it then its just another life lesson.
I like to use an analogy that we are building up body armour to get stronger to beat this addiction and sometimes there are chinks or slight cracks in the armour each time you learn something new about this addiction and what your triggers are your making it stronger.
Keep going mate we are all rooting for you.
Take care
Blondiex
Thanks Blondie,
I am feeling lower than a snake's belly button so your kind words are much appreciated, i love the analogy, I have slipped but just gonna try and dust off that armour, find the chinks and fill them in.
Paulds
Awe dude ya know I walked in them shoes like a million times. And yeah the day of and the next day we just kinda sit and wallow in the Cr-ap. Yeah It's the next day we pull our heads out of our butts and life smells a bit better. Hell don't set yourself up for it again and clip them cards or whatever ya used to get at them funds. Feel for ya dude and ain't the end of the world just a better tomorrow. Stay strong and thinking of ya.
Affected by gambling?
