Hi Russ, well you have come through your week at home alone with flying colours:),i knew you would. You must be really looking forward to the wife and children arriving now,the happiness on your kids faces when they see Dad will be something no amount of money could buy you, trust me!!!.
Seano.
Russ,
Congratulations on remaining gamble free to date. Isn't it strange that when we're not gambling, we find the time to do so many other things - like the garden - that previously we were too busy to tackle. It means we're starting to live life to the full rather than wasting life (and our money).
All the best

Hi Russ
Thanks for your birthday wishes to me yesterday. I don’t think I’ll mind reaching 50 at all; not so long ago I didn’t want to reach 47. With a lot of luck I might only be half way through, but we’ll see.
I wouldn’t know how to help a rose bush recover, but you can always listen to the country song “I never promised you a rose garden” to help you get over the loss.
Actually tea leaves are rumoured to do something for roses, so make yourself a pot of tea, watch the golf, and dump the tea leaves on the rose bush
Have a great weekend
Himmat
Thanks hatch man, seano and himmat.
Himmat, I take it that you haven't got a garden? Tea leaves sprinkled around rose bushes!! Brilliant, made me chuckle!
The family are back. It was great to see them and yes they have trashed the place already. But who cares! I guess my gardening will be put on the back burner for a while. I can almost hear the roses sighing in relief! Have a good weekend and stay clear of those football coupons no mater how small the bet. Russ
Oh come on Russ. I've got a beautiful garden full of roses. The're the "little angel" variety (my daughters)
Anyway look at this site and see what you think:

I see you also need a wizard cleaner now the family is back. Maybe you should summon Evanru, to do the trick, instead of passing his time butchering the roses, and then asking for ointment.
Best wishes
Himmat
Im ok russ mate...ive been on holiday all week mate and spent a lot of time with the family so not really had time to post...glad to see you keeping busy in what couldve been a potential hazardous week..as you know time and boredom are major factors in our recoveries so well done on That front...your cruising through recovery at present and long may that continue 🙂 best wishes we can do this 😉
Thanks Himmat and Winning Post, always nice to hear from you. Back to earth with a bump yesterday in regards child care! I was up most of the night with our ten month old girl. She's very determined! Golf went well today as I had 40 points playing off 6. Whilst driving I was listening to the scores coming in. It took me back to the days of coupons etc (not that long ago). Football was never a real problem for me, but it often started the roller coaster of a binge session. I'm determined to put those days in the past. Russ
Evanru..
Thank you for your support.
Good to read that you too are steering clear of gambling hell
Stay strong.
Fast li£e
Russ
Thanks for the post and well done on the course - 40 points is mightily impressive (especially off six). I was watching some of the Bridgestone on Sky and kept thinking about what the odds might be on a particular player BUT remained strong.
Also, like you, heard the footy scores and avoided another trigger.
Going to tackle the garden today myself - another job that got put to the back of the pile - in favour of gambling.
Wee done on your continued recovery - keep it going mate.
All the best

Thanks hatch man and fast life. I'm feeling a little rough today after a heavy night with friends last night. In days gone by i may have been wondering how my chosen bets may have been getting on (in the golf) but last night I was just able to relax and enjoy the company of friends. My 40 points was actually good enough to win, I was very happy with that!
Bloody Hell Russ,
40 points!! I think Tiger needs some tips at the moment, you could help him out!! Glad you've started to trim your golf scores and not the rose bushes lol. Keep up the good work.
Stay Strong
Steve
Well done with the golf Russ, you must be pleased, you will be challenging Curly to a round soon!!!.Your right Russ ,33 is a little on the young side to start gardening,i'm not keen myself,a few of my mates have become very keen gardeners though you would be amazed if you knew them from back in the day, last thing you would have expected them to enjoy!!!,still the safest gamble anyone can make is with a spade and a packet of seeds!!!.
Seano.
Thanks for your post on my diary Russ. Appreciated. Thinking about them coming over, and getting the house ready has already taken my mind off hubbies gambling - and hopefully tidying out the garage will take his mind of it too!!
Take care of yourself
love form Lili x
Thanks Steve, seano and lili for your support. Some real progress being made and some heart breaking stories on the diaries this week. A busy week with work, I have to do 20 business plans...arggggghhh! Not all bad though as I've got my last 8 of the singles and four ball this week + I'm playing in an industry 6 aside cricket tournament on Wednesday. It will be the first time I've picked up a bat in three months. Plenty to keep me busy and away from the horrible horrible life of compulsive gambling. Russ
Russ,
Thanks for the post on my diary and sounds like you've got a busy sporting week ahead. So much better to be playing it - rather than betting on it! I know what you mean about a cg seeing everything in "odds" terms as regarding sport. I am looking forward to the day when I can, once again, enjoy it for what it is - a spectacle - and nothing else.
Thanks again for the support Russ.
All the best
