Thanks for your post today on my diary Russ.

Its great to read you've got something to keep your mind off gambling, that you really enjoy. I haven't a clue what a "74" is but well done for putting the 20 footer.

Keep playing and good luck .

Pretty dull day for me. Meetings in Liverpool. Got talking with some fellow evertonians. It looks like we are guaranteed a top 4 spot this year. Lets hope so. I walked past a bookies today and imagined smashing it up with an axe. Watch out for me on the streets!!! Been reading a number of really positive posts over the last day. Its good to see that things are looking up for those that constantly post and support others.

Thanks for the post Russ, and i'm glad all is going well for you :)......i mentioned on Curly's diary that i actually think that Everton do have a realistic chance of a top four finish, you have a good manager, and a good mix in the squad, and in Arteta you have a very gifted footballer who makes the game look easy.Stay strong, and keep up the good work.

Seano.

thanks for the heads up on the one show piece Russ,i have just watched it,"Dom" was passing on alot of duff info actually....clearly going bankrupt is a very serious step to take, however the lady in the clip is only having those problems with her bank now because she was daft enough to conyinue to use her existing bank account prior to going bust(hope that makes sense),also the IVA route he speaks about is very flawed in so far as A)only 60% of your debt is wiped off and B)if you fail to keep up the payments(and 90% of people do)you will face an absolute nightmare in trying to get the IVA rescinded and actually go bankrupt!!!.He is right though, only the co-op and barclays will allow an undischarged bankrupt an account.

You clearly have a great interest in all things financial given you job....,we should team up,you can be the forums IFA and i can be the debt advisor!!!!,have a good day.

Seano.

Cheers seano. Been to Nottingham today and back. The family are away until Friday. Its strange how the house feels so much bigger when they are away! I'm going to have a big clean this evening......it will be destroyed again come Friday! No gambling thoughts today at all.

Thanks Dave and Lili...yes the house work is done and dusted. I'm on day three of five away from the family and I have to say that I'm feeling pretty lonely rattling around in the house on my own. I know why some of my single friends are out all the time down the pub meeting friends etc. I would do exactly the same as theres nothing worse than just sitting around.

Note to self: Never ever gamble again as you will feel like this (times 10000) every night when my family has deserted me.

Good post Russ.

You are right mate. In the long term we could all lose a lot more important things than money through a life of gambling.

I'll hold onto that thought i think.

Hi Russ,

Great last post mate. I'm a case in point with that mate. It wasn't the only reason, but gambling certainly didn't help in my marriage break-up. Nowt worse than being lonely all the time mate.

Anyway, I see Everton are doing very well pre-season. You n Curly will be doing a merry dance if they can take that form into the league!!

Stay Strong

Steve

Hi Russ.. thanks for your support. Am happy to report that am now chilled out again albeit minus printer and £32.. but tis not the end of the world.

Hope your coping with rattling around that house. Its a challenge for many feeling comfortable in own company. I find the older i get the less it bothers me. Sometimes i feel quite chilled just doing nothing.. depends on mood. keep safe.. S.A

P.s I tend to stay clear of the "never gamble again" statements.. The part I like from Ga thinking is not gambling "a day at a time" only.. works for me.

Thanks for your posts folks, really appreciated. Just finished a bit of 'pruning and weeding' in the garden....you might have guessed that I've got TOO much time on my hands!! I basically just hacked the rose bush to pieces. Does anybody have any rose bush experience, as I reckon I may have terminated it! Tucking into the World Golf champs now.....Tiger having a mare. In days gone by I would have been all over it on a betting front. Not today or tomorrow. Russ

Thanks for the supportive post Russ!

I'm the same, feel like I could be on here for years. It's so good that we've got a place we can all share our thoughts and feelings and give each other our support!

Keep up the good work mate,

Nick
