Was working as doorman at one of local pub in my city. Sunday night normal quiet and easy enough. Last night was deffo a eye opener for sure.
Heard a disdurbence in the pub turned around seen a gentleman attacking a woman. So go in to get him off her and he's shouting abuse at me and my colleguge also at the woman. Shouting ' gimmie back my graft phone'
We get him to the door and he puts his hand behind his back looking in his trousers/pockets saying ' gimmie my graft phone or the doorman get cut'
We then get him outside without any violence.
Worked the doors a number of years now but never been threatened before strange I know.
Last night was a total eye opener, life is too short. You never know whats around the corner.
I work 6/7 nights a week, make a decent enough wage and to blow it all on gambling is just pointless but it seems to be the only thing that gives me happiness for a short blast until end up loosing over the limit I set.
A friend of mind got stabbed and died last month, and another friend got stabbed last weekend. What has happened to society these days. No morals.
On a happy note I'm on day 3 no gambling
Feeling grand but missing the thrill of gambling
Leigh
i completley understand missing the thrill of gambling , but the more we dont do it the less we will miss it eventually , as it will get harder at first and the first chunk of time you spend gamble free you will probably start to miss it even more , but eventually you will turn a corner and then miss it less and less and the urges will get less and like you say life is just too short to gamble , lets all make the right choice and stay gamble free, thanks simon
great post leigh i totally hear you life is way to short to be spending time in the bookies. imagine how many lives gambling has taken, although some may say its suicide im done f the devils game
