Hi,

Good to see you've come back as I find it really does help. I'm only 20 so no expert on this or life but I know for sure I done the same as you, used 100 turns into 800 the lost it all, when I win its like I'm on auto pilot and I just can't bring myself to withdraw money!

But we can all get through this and wish you luck.

And yeah I have become bitter and grudge holding which is really outta character for me.

In answer to your question brassickid, no, gambling seems to have done that to most of us @ some point. Hell, I went to see a hypnotist to try & get rid of some of my anger, it was here that it was linked to my gambling 🙁

Chalk your previous attempt(s) up as a practise run, you say 'you improved' so I guess you didn't fully quit. Now you accept that you are quitting fully, you need to let go of all of the losses you have had, they are never coming back. I'm not going to offer you any advice as you didn't ask for any & have done this before, will just say, be strong, for you & your family - ODAAT

Hi all,

Been a while mainly due to losing my login i went from the 2nd of jan 2015 to start of this week without gambling them messed up. dropped back in to old habits lost £300 plus today which i won(well borrowed as no one ever wins) the day before. silly silly me so time to start counting all over again i am not going to let get me down just a blip in my addiction.

one thing i am thinking of doing to take my mind off it all is trying to create a national self excluding for gamblers and try and get on all book makers and and build a national system where shops can find a problem gambler at click of a button. because if everyone get checked before they can cashin winning it lowers risk of people doing it and book makers will do it. as help's with there duty of care.

i am sorry for the poor grammar,

I welcome people's feed back on my idea.

Thanks

BK

Great idea but I don't think the block should be @ the point of cashing in! Far be it for me to cast aspersions on the good name of the High Street bookies but I fear this will just be an excuse for unscrupulous companies to take even more from us (problem gamblers will still gamble despite self exclusion)! Maybe a National 'membership' system would be better where you need a card to sign in & throw your money away! That way blocks could be put on the cards rather than rely on staff members bothering to keep an eye on a self exclusion book that most have never even heard of!

Good to see you back, not good to see you taking loans from the bookies again! Time to draw a line & remember the smiles on your boy's faces for the cost of a few spins - don't pretend you didn't enjoy the slide 😉

Hi ODATT

I think a membership system would work put getting bookies to work with it might be a hard sell then again. they do have a duty of care and a membership be a lot better. i wish there was a way to block card use with bookies but that mean deals with the banks or visa ect.
